iOS 17 to bring massive Control Center revamp

This may be the only, or one of very few, important changes in the upcoming software release.

Please Apple, don't fix what's ain't broken.

I'm really nervous Apple's gonna take a cue from Google and combine the internet toggle and add two extra clicks to do the same thing. (This is why I think Chinese launchers have better UI than stock Android)

-Trix-, 06 Apr 2023You can't be serious? 😆 Literally every Apple article ... moreBoth are here. That being said I don't see salty Android fanboys, why would they be salty? Android already does everything iOS does and more. What I see are Anti-MIUI comments galore from Apple fanboys, trying to distract from what this article is about and avoiding discussion. As I said, iOS still lacks several features or implemented them badly, at that point improving these should take priority over another pointless visual update like the Dynamic Island.. Apple is losing ground, base iPhones are terrible value now and so are iPhone SE models and the Pro models while competitive don't really have an edge anymore besides longer updates and slightly better video recording. It's time for Apple to step up their game and show that they are still leaders and I am saying that as someone obviously biased towards Android. For me, Apple lost everything that once made them interesting.

-Trix-, 06 Apr 2023Well i find it very funny how clueless these salty Android ... moreYep there does seem be an awful lot of attention paid to Apple by those who obviously are not fans. I have said it before but being no fan of Xiaomi for instance is the reason you won’t see me commenting on news and reviews of their products, as to my mind fixating on things you don’t like isn’t healthy, but to each their own I guess 🤷

DaFink, 06 Apr 2023Don’t bother wasting your time on that one, it’s only here ... moreWell i find it very funny how clueless these salty Android boys are 😆

Whether you disable or turn off the likes of wi-fi or Bluetooth from a quick toggle is neither here nor there. There is very little (if any) benefit to completely turning them off on modern smartphones anyhow, so which ever approach is taken is fine.

TheAlienNextDoor, 06 Apr 2023Can you imagine paying 1500 euros and not being able to do ... moreI've literally never needed that feature, why would i want to shut down functions of the phone? If i sometimes end up being badly working Wi-Fi i can turn of the Wi-Fi from control center and use 4G instead, maybe this is just typical Android boy thing and you just don't understand the subject you are commenting?

It's a feature, Apple made it to turn off Wi-Fi or Bluetooth for 24 hours from control center, then it goes back on. This is very handy feature And Apple made it work this way, so even if you turn off those services you can still for example AirDrop files, using Airplay, continuity and so on. Let's not forget most phone users aren't tech people and they wouldn't know why their AirDrop for example just doesn't work.

Daemon Targaryen, 06 Apr 2023I preferred the look pre-iOS11. But pre-Android 12 is still... moreYeah I prefer the original control centre look as well, never liked the post iOS 11 design. Gotten used to it maybe, but never been happy with it.

If fact I wish Apple would follow Android’s approach and merge control and notification centres into one pane. I know the talking heads on this site would throw endless epic wobblers about features being copied and stolen etc. shouting about it to every thing that moves, from passers by on the street to clouds floating overhead.

But I’m a simple consumer, one who’s quite aware that the two platforms have been ‘inspiring’ each other since day one. So long as I get the best features one which ever I chose to use then why should I care who’s doing the inspiring 🤷

Androids approach to notifications is and has always been better, Apple do something about that already!

And I agree I think this would be better.

And that is a common occurrence on this site where any Apple news is related, so you sure it’s the Apple fans that are salty?

Oh God. People were using same control center from last 16 yra

Control center was much better accessible when it had a swipe up from the bottom. Much better to use phone with 1 hand. With a swipe down from up, it's pretty difficult (yeah you can use "reachability" but it's just a workaround with more steps).
At least they could do like Pixels with a swipe down in any part of the screen (instead of the search phone that people don't use as often as control center daily)...

Damn Apple fanboys are so salty, rather than taking the L from Apple reworking their control panel they shift the conversation to Xiaomi. Will this change make iOS good again or will it be as mediocre as it is now? It probably won't change much. Gesture controls on iOS are still a joke ESPECIALLY considering Apple had the Notch and therefore gestures first, multitasking still does not exist, nor does a proper app drawer as an optional setting which would massively improve iOS.
