Yes, there might be some other undisclosed losses too, but as per Samsung MX, they reported profits, and so did Samsung display. Just stated that.
        Also, other Semicon companies (eg: SK Hynix) similarly reported heavy losses due to a lot less sales than anticipated, which led to these companies producing a lot more than required, and also causing stock pile-up. Just wanted to clear the fact (that they are mentioning Samsung Electronics as a whole) out of the way.

          lg quad dac with 3.5 mm plug ... up until now ... only dedicated media player like astell and kern can match those ... very sad for lg to stop their audiophile phone

          and for samsung that has become apple wannabes ... forcing the lineup for customers to buy the same yet lesser product over and over again with higher price

                        That seems unplausable.

                          I did wonder why Im seeing much less online Samsung marketing as of late...as they used to be all over the place.

                          I foresee significant stock price drop, layoffs, foreclosures, Electronics departments and RnD closing down.

                          If Samsung really has some reserves you talk about, well, its high time they pull it in and save Electronics.
                          Bad thing about Corps of this size, is even the gov cant do a bailout as the cost is just too much.

                          But overall, with this magnitude profit drop, its unfortunately going to be a downward spiral.

In the past, they always had very good updates support, but the only problem being slow release of the said updates. But the target demographic for Flagship phones would rather have the release come out a bit late, but be very stable and devoid of bugs, rather than release the update first, but then have to deal with bugs and instability.
                            Also, FYI, It is Samsung Global Electronics that posted a decrease in profits. Samsung Mobile MX reported a quarterly increase in profits and sales. Samsung Display also reported profits in Q1. Its Samsung Semiconductors that faced a huge loss.

                              Videos , photos , movies , audio books , regular books , documents , scripts, programs, kits (android , linux, windows). Only the Star Trek series are almost 500GB. Add to that Kali Linux dual-boot running on Termux about 20GB .
                              I don't play games , but call of duty was about 30GB last time I used it .
                              I don't install apps on the SD card , I just store data. Speed is absolutely irrelevant in this case. But I have the fastest SD card on the market anyway .
                              My 1TB SanDisk Extreme Pro SD card says hello!
                              PS if I don't have an internet connection , I have weeks of videos to watch . Meanwhile you can stare at the real clouds...

                                As a Samsung user, I really have to say that not having the 3.5mm jack is definitely a NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE !
                                I have to choose between charging the phone or using the headphones. This is actually very frustrating, especially at night time when I want to watch a movie and I don't want to wake everyone up.
                                My opinion on wireless headphones:
                                - they have a lag, latency , whatever you want to call it - it's there Especially if you choose to play online games or live streaming services
                                - You can't connect to a USB audio amplifier with wireless headphones
                                - they need constant charging - extremely annoying
                                - you loose them all the time
                                - they're very expensive compared to what regular wired headphones can do. In fact they are nowhere near
                                - the sound quality is not the same (it's worse). I'm no audiophile and even I can notice the difference
                                - the wires of my headphones saved my phone countless times from falling to the ground . Get ready to grab the air when your phone slips from your hands
                                - secure risk - Bluetooth is very unsafe from a security point of view, especially older versions. Bluetooth is one of the first things a hacker will try . I'm studying ethical hacking as a hobby.
                                Brands were not making any profit from selling high-end phones with the 3.5mm jack. That's the only reason they went wireless. Because they can make A LOT more money like this. People defending wireless headphones are simply clueless sheeple. Even Mr Who's the Boss said it in his last video.
                                I specifically bought an older model for the SD card slot. That's where I draw the line. If I can't use my 1TB SanDisk Extreme Pro SD card, it's over.
                                Since Samsung is clearly narrowing down the gap between android and iOS, probably my next phone will be an iPhone. And I hate ios.
                                Samsung , you ditch my favorite features , I ditch you for Apple !
                                I'm not interested in mid-range trash phones. I'm a power user, I use my phone 16 hours per day or more . I photoshop on my phone , I write and run shell scripts. I even have Kali on my phone . I need all the processing power available. Mid-range phones are for mediocre, non technical people that play games and watch yt.
                                I know Sony is my last alternative . They actually make good phones, but in the last years they went completely downhill. They only care about their japanese market . Also , I prefer Samsung displays , even though I would absolutely love a 4K display on the next Note series .
                                Conclusion: No SD card slot + No 3.5mm jack = HELLO APPLE !
                                PS I'm not interested in tzing-ping commie- sympathizers spying replica brands, so don't bother naming them. I'd rather have no phone whatever than use one of those. No, I don't care what specs it has or how cheap it is ! Keep that garbage away from me !

                                    psychologically, when the user feel their battery low, they straightforward looking for charger, and the marketing keeps saying the operating system is getting stable so the users dont need to restart their phone ... this has been told since 1996s way before windows pocket pc ... so ... basically the phone is always on ... and then they promoting cloud ... the question ... are we aware that only our data is in our phone ??? hard disk is expensive ...

A big part of this is due to the memory chips having low demand. Storage (and RAM to a lesser extent) has gotten incredibly cheap these days. Shame that they are cutting this department because the only Samsung products I bought are MicroSD cards and SSDs.
