Here's a thought: start being competitive from a pricing point of view & stop trying to be the Apple of the Android world. There's a limit to how much you can charge & people catch on sooner or later. This is also true for business partners. Long story short - demand is low because they are expensive.

We want android because can use memory cards, jack audio, flexibility file manager (edit obb file) , but samsung kill it, so we turn to apple , high value if we sell second hand iphone and buy new iphone again/upgrade

Because samsung is trying mimicking what iphone do, it will eventually fail and apple win. They should kept jack port abd microsd, rather than remove them, and force the user bought their cloud solution. Is just kill their own business (their nand chip product) just for an cloud sass, how ironic.

Am I reading this correctly?!
From 10 billion profit to 0,5 billion in profit, in just one year?
What the h happened?
No amount of chip production segment can make tgat kind of loss. There must be sth else they are not disclosing.
That is not a slight loss, thats an earth shattering loss...
Samsung is bancrupt/done.

Anonymous, 08 Apr 2023Audio for living and still you don't find DACs importa... moreI don't think you quite understood what i said? I meant that when this guy was talking about DAC he's clearly in minoriry like i said niche market, most don't even know what DAC is, just like you said too "I mean if a normal person said that, it would actually make sense."
"Normal" people are majority of smartphone buyers nowdays and wireless works great for them just like i said and that was my point whole time. Adding headphone jack back to phone wouldn't magically make crazy high sales like the guy who i replied said, because majority of people like effortless wireless experience and have left headphone jack behind.

windows pocket pc ... feels ... bringing laptop in our own hand, powerful, and definitely not user friendly, for me, its a pride on its own
feels like the complexities of mothership put in a luxurious private ship yacht ... its a laptop in phone ... so great

I mean if a normal person said that, it would actually make sense. Wireless audio have a long way to go. We got true stereo not too long ago. They are catching up slowly. If only the quality would be somewhat similar to wired.

YUKI93, 08 Apr 2023Lol, what complete nonsense. Wireless audio still has a LON... moreWhat part of my comment you didn't understand when i said those are for small niche group nowdays, i mean you are talking about DACs 😅 most are happy with wireless and want to have that effortless experience. Me included, i do audio for living and wireless audio have reached the level where it sounds surprisingly good, i don't do anything with wireless audio with my phone where latency would show.

Anonymous, 07 Apr 2023Exactly. Since I sold my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra for my So... moreI see you are a man of culture. I also have been actively looking at Sony as my next phone since LG has long exited the smartphone market. It's ironic to think that Sony did remove the headphone before on their 2018 and 2019 flagships, even citing the rising trend of wireless audio, but only to see them put it back and keep it to this day since the 2020 Xperia 1 Mk2. It feels like someone at Sony realized that following the trend was a fatal mistake. Sony could have continued not putting on the headphone jack and kept promoting their wireless earbuds, but they didn't. That is what draws me to Sony phones.
P.S. Seeing how crazy great the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC has been, I cannot wait for this year's Mk5 Xperia 1/5.

Anders, 07 Apr 2023They won't though. The reality is most humans are too ... moreAs a Windows Phone user, I see a lot of potentials for it to be a real pocket PC, especially with Continuum. The only reason it can't be a viable third mobile OS is app developers' lack of interest and corporate blunders. Now that we have Windows on ARM, Microsoft should have zero problems resurrecting the Lumia lineup with the latest Snapdragon SoC and Windows 11 ARM. I totally doubt it can replace or disrupt the Surface tablet sales since you need an external monitor or a lapdock to use Continuum.

-Trix-, 07 Apr 2023You are so ignorant thinking that, in reality hardly no-one... moreLol, what complete nonsense. Wireless audio still has a LONG way to replace wired audio. You can't even get DACs and amps to be used wirelessly, and that's before we even talk about latency. It's similar story with display, but that's another story for another day.

Dometalican, 07 Apr 2023Exactly! Instead of casting aside an entire phone for that ... moreI can't agree more. I'm not paying an extra $100 for only 2x storage when you can get a genuine Kingston/SanDisk 512GB microSD card for half of that. Heck, you can spend the same $100 for a SanDisk 1TB microSD card and get an extra 4x to 8x storage, depending on the phone's internal storage capacity. It's a complete no-brainer.

[deleted post]What does that have to do with Samsung? Samsung low profits are due to high expense in fabs, they said so themselves, and they legally cannot lie about things like this. Nothing to do with BRICS, war in Russia, energy etc

Still billions and billions in profit! Samsung will be perfectly fine, quit worrying about a company that doesn’t know you even exist in this world.
