LG is going for a more “dynamic and youthful” look in hopes of reinventing its brand identity.

For some reason, it reminded me of the OnePlus logo

the stettiner, 12 Apr 2023just change the name from the initials to lucky goldstar so... moreIf you got a "lucky goldstar" then life's good. So that's a good and relevant caption to have.
Besides that no one I know of thinks LG stands for Life's Good. So no need to worry.

AnonD-731363, 12 Apr 2023Still hope they not going to make smartphones again. Past... moreforget their low end phones, their flagships is a masterpiece of features🤩🤩🤩 for instance, quad dac 3.5mm jack, sd card and higher quality audio recording. i still had to hope that LG would return its mobile market. imagine they continue their V series lineup and still keep the quad dac 3.5mm jack and sd card. it would obliterate samsung if they are cheaper..
but it is too late, all we have here right now in the market are trash low end smartphones and flagships with no physical features. midrangers started to ditch 3.5mm jack neither sd card.. dont reply me with your "wireless is everything" bs

Bit late to the party... This'll be embarrassing when design trends change soon

That's cool I suppose. I don't get the huge nostalgia people here are having for their phones though; not once did I have a good experience with LG and I harshly defended them from 2014-2020. Bootloops, awful battery life, no software optimization and no updates are not a good look. I wish they would come back though; here in the U.S. we DESPERATELY need more options

kek, 12 Apr 2023"poor battery life" Just dont buy used phones.... moreMy lg G7 doesn't last very when I constantly use it. Also the volume buttons came out. 3000mah is too small especially if they put tons of bloatware.

the stettiner, 12 Apr 2023just change the name from the initials to lucky goldstar so... moreI can't imagine that's gonna be popular, it sounds post-war-Asian, rather than 21st century international. We're a couple decades too late and a few billion people wider an audience for that😅

Just dont buy used phones. LG G7 lasts 5-6 hours SOT with just 3000 mah.

LG needs to get back into the smartphone business. NA smartphone market share has been boring. First, revamp their OS skin, and fix the boot loop issues once and all.

Honestly, the new logo looks ok. It's the same we already know, but with a few twists here and there

Anders, 12 Apr 2023If they do they would first need to be realistic about thei... moreAnd they need to focus on marketing. Which was non-existant back in the days.

PMKLR3m, 12 Apr 2023Couldn't keep up.More like lack of marketing and availability. Just look at the sheer amount of money Samsung and Apple use for advertising. Same story with Google despite limited availability.

DarlingYext, 12 Apr 2023LG, please get back to making smartphones. If they do they would first need to be realistic about their pricing and sort out their poor battery life.

Their problem before was they were trying to charge Samsung and Apple prices and people just weren't paying it and like most companies/people they were too arrogant and proud to admit they were wrong about their pricing strategy

Anonymous, 12 Apr 2023Same with other brands, particularly Samsung and Xiaomi. I ... moreI can find the S23 Ultra second-hand for 790 usd, which is basically still brand new, has warranty, has the box, no damage to it, that is insane when Samsung is charging over 600 usd for a brand new A54. Overpriced nonsense that will sell for less than 300 usd in a couple of weeks.

Past 2-3 years they low end phones cost 50 to make but 200-300 to sell.

im not against the new design language but these type of revamp needs to be done quietly. it'll just cause people to hate it. people never or even tried to appreciate little redesigns like this at first.

imo this should be done silently. and people will be like "oh didn't really notice it before, cool" instead.
