Anonymous, 15 Apr 2023However, midrange Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 is light years all +better.I think it's fair to say that the Snapdragon 7+ Gen2 certainly is pushing it's performance beyond what could be called a mid-range chipset(it's 7-series name aside), chances are it's quite an expensive chipset given its running an X-Core, Adreno 700-Series GPU and built on a 4nm node.

            Interesting results. The designator and its clock speed does seem to indicate that it's a variant of the 1100, but the Geekbench results are far from your typical 1100 scores. I would guess that it's either a roided version of the 1100 (with the 8000 series node + better architecture, in which Geekbench somehow misidentified the clock speed) or it's a gimped version of the 8200 with no 3ghz+ A78 cores (which will explain the clock speeds, but not so much for designator being similar to 1100 if this is the case).

            Anyway, even if Motorolla will sell this thing outside of China, its iffy update policy is still a huge factor. And yes, like the other comment said, this one having a Dimensity chip will likely make custom ROMS virtually nonexistent for it. You can correct me if this is changing now though.

              I hope Motorola puts in 3.1 + Display Out; as other user said, would make it insta buy for me too.

                      Heyyo, while this looks great? I must say that the MediaTek SoC means a hard pass for me... MediaTek don't care at all for the open source community, so custom ROM support always suffers on MediaTek devices. With Qualcomm, we have Code Linaro (CLO) and of course Google is always great for open source so Tensor is great too.

                      I say this as one of the LineageOS maintainers of the Edge 30 (Dubai) and working with the Snapdragon 778G+ was pretty easy. I'll be waiting to see whatever next Motorola releases with something using a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC.

                        This phone looks very similar to edge 30 fusion. It's easier for them to copy and save money.

                                Interesting, looks like SD 870 level power, though expecting it to be less heating and better battery life because lower clock speed and Mediatek.

                                Lots of things to like for me: Motorola's OS, wireless charging, 144hz, quite compact (curved screens make the phone seem smaller, for example Edge 30 Fusion feels much smaller than the 6.5in screen lets on). Just hope it comes with USB 3.1 + wired Ready For and it will be a great value proposition. Especially since the price will drop fast.

                                Excellent that it has IP68 too. Quite useful for my lifestyle.

                                  Considering geekbench 6 gives more 400-500 points compared to 5.1, this SoC is barely above 778. So it must be indeed D1100.
