No more dongle or adapter nonsense, just a stupidly easy plug-and-play solution.

I sold my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra for the Sony Xperia 1 iv and I don't even slightly miss my old Samsung phone at all. I'm loving my Sony even more now.

Anonymous , 18 Apr 2023So this Sony fantoy will justify their charger removing lolI can easily bet you never know Fairphone has been doing the exact same thing since their inception all the way back in 2013. It's only became a thing since Apple started doing it.

Dan, 18 Apr 2023Most successors are not even 10% different from their 2021 ... moreI dont agree about the "no improvement" part, but i agree with the fact that the improvement given to newer generation is somewhat more intangible than older generation. Like it's faster for just a fraction of performance from what it already used to be, and we just cannot feel the urge for upgrading.

Some guys in comment section think that cause of no headphones jack and no SD card that's why flagship not sell well and forget that since COVID 19 jops and salaries now are not the same as before. Sony phones comes with SD card, headphones jack and 4k OLED and still shitty phones.

Most successors are not even 10% different from their 2021 phones yet some of them cost almost double, 0 inovation, trash chip, no performance increase, minimum design changes.
                    GalaxyA52s vs A54 = 0 upgrade
Xiaomi lite 10 NE vs Xiaomi lite 13 = 0 upgrade
                    Galaxy S21 vs S23 = 0 upgrade
Oneplus = complete fail in all segments design/hardware/software.
And you expect people to pay such high prices for phones like that?
Man, 2 years used to mean huge difference in technology and now we get so little, I feel like we are still stuck in 2021 with the whole tech, not just phones

Hugo, 18 Apr 2023People justifying the removal of the headphone jack and sd ... moreIt's the reason I applaud Sony for putting back the headphone jack and keeping it since the 2020 Xperia 1 Mk2. No one ever expects to see any brand, including Sony, do that. It shows that it's more than possible to put the removed hardware feature back again. It's either common sense or corporate capitalism at the end of the day, as simple as that.

Damn, Apple is killin’ it, lol.

These days there really is no need to upgrade constantly. It's pretty easy to stay with the same flagship for 3, 4, maybe even 5 years

Hugo, 18 Apr 2023People justifying the removal of the headphone jack and sd ... moreEXACTLY! Android wasn't the only thing that made those phones stand out, it was their features. Headphone jack when Apple removed it, now they don't have it anymore. expandable storage that Apple never had, now they don't have it anymore.
                                      Same goes for:

                                      Replaceable battery
                                      IR Blaster
                                      Iris scanner
Physical navigation buttons (Now it's software based and some phones definitely have room in their bezels for them).

Now that they gained the users, they removed features that made people switch to Android. Now they are switching back to iOS, and I don't blame them. Newer versions of Android make it harder to have freedom with YOUR phone. Back when I switched to Android, I switched to freedom and for high customization. Now with every new version of Android, it appeals more to the general and not to the niche. With iOS getting side-loading in iOS 17, I can definitely see more people switching to iOS.

I hope it keeps declining for those Chinese OEMs who release the same phone from previous years under new name to fool the unsuspecting customers.
