It’s always funny seeing people claiming Samsung phones to be bad or overpriced, but continually fail to provide the better alternatives at the same price point. Ever since the dual digit A series, Samsung has been quite aggressive in their low to mid tier pricing. Many Chinese competitors are still using chips with old cores or even eMMC storage at this price point.

The spec is not that bad and somewhat competitive too boot.
- G99 (better than SD680 who are now commonly used in $150~200 something phone)
- FHD Amoled with 90hz refresh rate (some of the $150~200 still used 60hz IPS)
- 50mp with OIS main camera (some of the $150 still using the 48mp without ois) with samsung software processing.
It have near uniform backside design all the way to A54.
It will have smoother samsung One UI (at least compared to MIUI, used to use Poco x3)
It will have samsung warranty and service (which are not that much "better" or "cheaper" really but far more accessible and easily found for the less tech illiterate)
Maybe Redmi will outspec it but Vivo or Oppo or the rest will face pretty tough competition from what basically supposedly more "premium" brand.

Who else gives their midrange phones years of security... moreSo do most others (almost all do atleast 2/3 years for £400-£600 phones), if we're talking budget then no one does including samsung (sub £200-250 price). This looks like a decent cheap device though so if i even got a year or 2 I'd be happy.

Glad to see they are keeping the "quality of life" features like SD card and headphone jack... There is no info about FM radio however, hopefully they kept that one as well

There are still enough visible differences (notch, pattern on the back and colors) to not make anyone but tech-illiterate people fool into thinking it’s a S23 Ultra. But you‘d also be surprised how many people can’t discern car brands even if the design lines, headlights and grille are radically different looking.

Oki, 19 Apr 2023Wth are you talking about???I'm talking about the fact that Samsung is trying to emulate the look of their flagships all the way down to their entry levels handsets.
They couldn't do that with fancy high end designs, such as the frame shared, all metal camera housing of the S21 series. (A design since highjacked by OnePlus because abandoned by Samsung)
So they removed all that fancy stuff and now their flagships look dull as hell, but on par with their entry level stuff. Meaning by buying this A24 the average person will be happy to have S23 (and likely S24 too)-like looks.

What is misleading design ?
It's difficult making entry level phones looking like flagships, but you can easily make flagships look like entry level phones. This is why Samsung removed all the high-endness and coolness of the S23 Ultra design, just so it could look like this thing even just a little bit. The intent here is to make people who know nothing about tech think they're getting an ersatz of Ultra by buying this.
Spoiler alert : they really aren't.
This is misleading design.
