Limited android Apps optimised for tablet make it worse. Which is why most android tablet are targeted at lower/mid end to give them a run for $.

C'mon Android OEMs, make a mid-high end tablet with a headphone jack and MicroSD slot or at least additional USB ports. You really aren't trying much to differentiate from Apple, which has a better tablet experience with the Apple pencil. But it seems like the only way these tablets are different are that they run Android.

Even though I prefer Android phones, I don't see myself switching from my iPad to an Android tablet, because these OEMs don't try to make their tablets better than Apple's (except possibly Samsung, but those are overpriced even compared to iPads).

As for using DeX itself, you can start by using a USB-C hub with your TV or your PC monitor. If you can get a DeX Station accessory, that'd be great. Personally, I'd try to get myself a lapdock.

I was just holding off to see if anything better with a MediaTek Kompanio was on the horizon. I definitely can see the allure of DeX and similar modes, but it's the true desktop web browser experience of ChromeOS that really does it for me. Even $1200 M1 iPads have a worse browser experience. Ideally, though I would like to get that ChromeOS browser experience into something smaller like an 8" tablet.

This was a $500 device btw and can't even get this lackluster level of multitasking offered in Stage Manager. Ignoring the fact that many phones and tablets with far worse SoCs than the A15 have a superior multitasking experience to Stage Manager. IDK, MacOS is fine, but Apple is on some other ish with iOS. Definitely not my thing.

I myself don't miss going back to my underpowered Chromebook laptop when I started using DeX from my Samsung Galaxy Note8 and EMUI Desktop from my Huawei Mate 20. It's such a truly great underrated feature that most Android OEM slept about.
