TrainingAddict, 22 Apr 2023Candy crush required more? Holy shit there are currently n... moreYeah like there are a lot of mobile games where you get to tweak with graphics settings.
Most games that is played are probably not racing or first person shooter games on where some of them have settings some minor things.

My 72 year old mother is playing solitaire on her mobile.
I on the other hand play yatzy that start up the game in 10 second on my SD636 and 3GB ram phone while candy crush start up like at least 1 minute. Well candy crush is broken anyways as it even on PC start up slow as heck and even time to time freeze up.

Just to think how much of these Helio G80/85/95/99 SD480/695/732G/765 and the like is in the market on phones like 150-300 euro and all these are able to play all games.

There are few games that probably need unreasonable more resource to run high fps but thats like nish market for western world

Gaming phones and laptops are too childish for me. Ordinary flagship models are miles better and more premium.

Dear gsmarena even if you yourselves played many games on your smartphones, would you pay more money for a gaming smartphone like rog phone 7 ultimate compared to for example a Galaxy S23 ultra?

Thats why gaming phones are a big NO for most people.

They are too expensive for what they do, while having inferior cameras and software support.

I mean if someone wants a ''gaming'' phone for way less, he could pick a Oneplus 11 and save a ton of money and have a way better overall experience.

Well it is good to have choices but Asus should relaunch the Flip camera full screen phones. I've the Zenfone 6 and it is still a beast.

So basically the reality is this

95% of the voters buy phones for maybe 200 dollars or less

But the participate in these polls pretending they are are potential buyers LOL

You can't take poll results from tech savvy sites like these serious Ech oe chamber mentally is rife in here

I absolutely love gaming phones. I'd even buy one as a daily driver, but the appalling lack of any durability on these things makes me go for something else. And most case makers will just ignore gaming phones so can't buy a thousand phone to accidentally snap it in half after 2 days of purchase

These gaming phones are not for everyone cause of there price.
These are high end phones basically and all cost over 600 euro.
You can have a playstation or xbox for that money and some games too.
Also probably the majority of these so called gamers are minors who live off from parents wallets so they probably dont have the money to get these gamer phones and cause they are phones and with android then you cant buy the 3-4 year old models cause they have lost all OS support and for gaming that evolves with the OS that is important.

These gaming phones would make sense only if they be like good cpu/gpu combo with good screen and larger battery. There is nothing more needed like fancy cameras and so on. Have the buttons for these and so on and price at max 250 euro so majority can afford it. It's still a toy and made as a toy. Phone is just a feature just like internet connection

blue, 22 Apr 2023I guess you have never seen "high" settings.Candy crush required more?
Holy shit there are currently no games that would require a dedicated phone just for them

As a gamer its good news they make phone for gaming, but the bad things about this not every gamer can afford to buy this, aside that app in purchase also the main point in every game android especially p2w game, other then that i dont see the big different between this phone and ROG 6D and Nubia Redmagic 7s since i have this 2 phone.

Anonymous, 22 Apr 2023Buy a steam deck or other portable gaming pc.Yup. I would game on my smartphones all the time using an SN30 Pro as the SNES controller is my favorite controller of all-time followed by the GameCube's Wavebird. But it's more convenient using a dedicated gaming handheld with dedicated physical controls. No input lag. Don't need to charge the Bluetooth controller.

My Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 can emulate retro games better than my modded Vita. My Vita can only reach PS1/PSP at best. N64 is still hit or miss. But I would rather play retro games on the Vita. Just easier to pick up and play. And since I'm back using my Flip as a daily driver, it saves battery life if I use a Vita or Switch to game instead of my main phone.

Until another OEM can offer a handheld for $400 like Valve does, I don't see anybody beating the Steam Deck. Is it perfect? No. There are better handhelds with better specs. But for the best price for performance, it's the best. People can use it beyond just a gaming device. It's still technically a portable PC. Can watch a little Netflix on it. Can download torrents.

The Steam Deck community is also a huge help. There are so many tutorials that can make your experience even better and easier. The homebrew community has kept the Vita alive all this time and that came out in late-2011. SD's community will do the same for a solid 10+ more years. Modding is forever. I see Sega Nomads get modded to an LCD panel all the time.

any $300 and above is a "gaming" phone, minus RGB, shoulder button and fan.. but that's enough with 200Hz+ touch sampling, decent cooling, 500K antutu score which is good to play all games with high settings.
