Verizon will expand its C-band 5G network to more rural areas this year

26 April 2023
The C-band spectrum was acquired by the carrier back in 2021.

Verizon needs to work on the signal it already has. I have 3-4 bars of 5G/5Guw, and I consistently have streaming issues of buffering and app crashing. I do use a lot of data each month, but I have the plan where Verizon supposedly does not slow down speeds at s certain point. I have spoken to Verizon at several different points and they tried many different solutions to no avail. Sad, I feel like my old 4G plan did not have any of these issues.

0odle-noodle, 27 Apr 2023why is Verizon still in business? Their prices are way hig... moreWhere I live, Verizon has by far the fastest network with both C-Band and mmWave. They have the overall best coverage in rural areas as well. Cheaper carriers like T-Mobile have greatly improved, but outside cities, they can be sketchy off major highways.

Besides, you can get Visible unlimited data for $25 or Visible+ for $35. That's unlimited data as well! You'll always get a better deal not going directly to one of the major carriers and find a subsidiary/MVNO like Visible.

why is Verizon still in business?
Their prices are way higher than what should be being paid, especially with the service quality. 99% of their coverage is also covered by other significantly cheaper carriers who deliver higher quality service.
Also, why hasn't anything been done about them locking up the bootloader on all android devices sold by them?? they shouldn't be allowed to do that.

Remember when people claimed this would cause plane crashes? lol

Unfortunately, many phone manufacturers lie about C-band support. It's in the spec sheet but can't be used because the phone has never been tested and certified for those frequencies. It's the same shit as listing SA 5G bands but not supporting SA 5G.

They should learn a thing or two from China. They were racing to deploy 5G first and look where they are now compared to China.

I was very worried that C-Band was going to be a big bust due to it's operating frequencies, but that has turned out to not be an issue for me at all. In my house, I have average to low coverage for Verizon in my house, but manage to still get C-band just fine. I have no idea how, but I'm always able to get 200mbps+ speeds with a less than ideal signal. Around my entire metro area, C-Band is plentiful and runs from 200mbps to nearly 1000mbps! Paired with a Visible+ plan for $35, it's a no brainer for me
