The renders make this look like a design downgrade from the XR20, the asymmetrical camera housing being the obvious element.

It also looks like the lanyard hoop is missing, and the programmable button is now where the Google Assistant button was which means it will be pressed accidentally. The XR20 had both a dual and single LED flash (and flashlight) whereas this has dual only. The XR20 also had the exposed frame which looked unique and provided a good contrast of materials, this seems to have a ribbed frame for grip.

As for the main camera sensor, my guess is they may make use of the ISOCELL GW3 as on the X20, unless they have acquired some OV64C (used in the Nokia 8.3) or OV64A which seems to be in use again recently.

I would guess the XR30 will use the 695 chipset like the X30, but there is a rumour HTC are releasing a phone with the 778/+ or 7 Gen 1 and HMD seem to have the same supply.

That type of person would most probably be an ordinary phone user

Dometalican, 27 Apr 2023Xcover has all of that + IP68.Agreed, but let's not forget Samsung Xcover series has a bloated UI and no Li-Po batteries or IPS/OLED displays, and a choice of either a flimsy build with a removable battery or a bulky build with no removable battery.
If there was a perfectly balanced Samsung rugged phone, it was the Galaxy S6 active with a relatively lightweight build for the size for a rugged phone, apart from Nokia's devices. The Lenovo ThinkPhone can be also considered but that's nearly thrice the price of this phone.

Are you sure about the price of XR30 is $499! HMD Global had launched X30 in India for $600 (INR 49000). XR30 will be costlier than X30. Recently they had reduced the price of X30 from 49K to 36K. They had launched XR20 for 49K. Hope, they will keep that price same for XR30.

you have to suffer, 27 Apr 2023if this comes with 695, it would be just a rugged version of X30.That kinda makes sense as the design and name is very similar to the X30. And this has an LCD as is evident by the side mounted reader. But I hope this one has a bigger battery than the X30. Otherwise, it's just a downgraded and even more overpriced Nokia X30 with a case.

Droid4ever, 27 Apr 2023Why is there no new Nokia logo?? New logo is only for Nokia's telecommunications business and will not be used by HMD.
