This clock speed is just unnecessary. It is time we start focusing on battery life of mobile devices than peak performance. The gamer community has ruined priorities !!

      It's about the how demanding apps become or how apps are programmed or even what is the operating systems minimum requirements...

      Chipset processing power is way way at the bottom interms of influence

      People act like having a 4 year old chipset is an un useable experience

        They need to stop releasing new chip every year and wait until a worthwhile advancement in technology is made so that a noticeable performance and efficiency increase outside benchmarks is seen. We've reached a point where 8 gen 2 is good for another 5 years or even more.
        Also, this nanometer thing is just a marketing ploy to keep selling things every year.

          So Apple might be the only company with 3nm chips for most of next year unless mediatek will use the 3nm process for their next flagship chip. Wonder if it will make any difference

            having this much power on a smartphone SoC is like having 6 litres bi-turbo on a daily commuter.

            i would rather appreciate having more options for more efficient (faster, cooler, longer battery life, better ISP) midranger SoCs. for now all we've got are 7 Gen 2 and D 7200 and those are still far from being adopted en-masse.
            even worse, in 2023 we are still getting new phones with the old SD 695.
