The tech is still far from going into production, though.

Anders, 29 Apr 2023Absolutely this. People don't miss physical keypads. I... morethe reason is u lose so much else like screen real estate for that one plus of physical keyboard, here u get to keep both, is actually cool and many would want it, as long as the screen can last and stay looking great that is

if they're going for a 3d tactile feel to the keyboard, i hope the actuation is actually more like a laptop keyboard than a blackberry one, or has adjustable actuation style. i didn't grow up on blackberry or similar devices, and the keyboards i like most are the ones that require the least force to actuate.

If people liked them so much they wouldn't have abandoned Blackberry. Blackberry even made several android phones with full QWERTY keyboards and no one bought them. Modern touchscreens are superior, let you type faster.

This tech is an example of solving a problem that doesn't exist

More people miss headphone jack and microSD than keypads. You see that being mentioned all the time. You never see people saying they want a physical keyboard

IpsDisplay, 29 Apr 2023This text below 👇⬇️ is probably the most out of touch delus... moreI think you're not really understanding the sentence: tactile feel is really important for humans, our eyes aren't everything. We don't need physical keyboard in phones like we used to have, you're right, but adding more tactile feedback would open up new accessibility and interaction options.

Car manufacturers, for example, are starting to understand that people don't want to look at a screen to do simple things like turning on the AC. It's much easier to use a physical button without looking at it than to use a touchscreen without looking at it.

Useless for people who are having perfect vision. But, useful for those blind and having vision problem.

This text below 👇⬇️ is probably the most out of touch delusional quote I've ever read in tech news history

"Perhaps one of the things people miss the most in modern smartphones is the physical keyboard"

I am honestly blown away by this sentence.. the demand for a physical keyboard wasn't enough to save blackberry lol

kevvv, 29 Apr 2023Glass breaks, and it's already rule of nature. Let me correct you: Kunlun glass doesn't break when dropped. But it is impossible to make a foldable or inflatable display with kunlun glass. So the right sentence is:

All glasses that offer characteristics other than being a transparent, tough surface break.

This is really cool tech, especially for people with visual problems. There are a ton of possibilities.
However, just like solid state batteries that are always "coming soon" I don't see this coming to market for at least another 15 years...

If they managed to perfect this tech & turn it into reality for mass production, this would be amazing for accessibility for visually impaired & blind people.

Now from where i will get a durable bubbly screen protector for this bubble phone in future?

We'd get this tech into the production by the end of Gen. Alpha,
