There is however a mention of 1/2.5" for the ultrawide camera, so that might be the one with IMX 858. Nevertheless, I'll wait for the official announcement.

I sold my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra for a Sony Xperia 1 iv, and there's not one moment where I suddenly miss my old Samsung phone. I'm more than happy with my current Sony phone, and I'm totally excited about this new phone primarily because of the chipset.

                Hanif Fikri, 01 May 2023No sony phones ubless they used 19.5 aspect ratio or lower..Not gonna happen when pretty much all phone use 20:9 screen or taller. Motorola had already embrace 21:9 with the Moto G100.

Main sensor is moded 803 found in current iPhone. Dual layer tech will debut in some other phone and in new iPhone. Best bet for Xperia with dual layer main shooter is new PRO by the end of the year.

I had 1 actually kill itself when playing a game (all of a sudden it stopped accepting sim cards and its emei number disappeared, couldn't be used again as a phone). Went through 4 of them, all had overheating issues, all had glass chipping issues (literally sitting in my pocket then on a sofa, weren't ever knocked or dropped). Had slow down issues, really bad overheating issues (too hot to hold) and odd ui bugs that would happen all to frequently.

                    My mates brother has been xperia for about 10 years now and encounteted the same issues on all his devices (he used to get the 4k panel models like the xz etc).

                    Camera was the same, went from a 20.7mp z1 to a 13mp g3 and the g3 wiped the floor with it. Only thing ill give them is they do produce very natural photos which is nice just overall quality isnt there and it is the same problem still even with the pro models, very nice natural pictures but about a year behind the current flagships (somehow when most are using sony sensors).

                    Hes actually talking a lot of sense (seems sony never sorted their software or hardware quality control team and its why they'll never sell well).

                      I choose sony 1 iv than sony pro 1..
                      But ending up using my note 20 ultra..

                      Now i want to change my phone..
                      Sony 1 V or sony pro 2..

                        I hate that you can't change font on Xperia phones without Rooting. The default font is garbage.

                            I would be definitely interested to see how the new 2-layer transistor structure will pan out since this would allow a type 1 sensor to perform like a MFT sensor, and let even something like a 50MP sensor with 1µm pixel do very well in low light. Xperia 1 V should be a perfect testing bed for this ambitious tech before they provide it to Apple, as there will be only a limited number of people reaching out to Sony's phones to begin with. I can't wait for the review.

                                The market share in Japan for example is 66% for Apple. These situations must be avoided long-term. A cap of 20% would suffice for the beginning.

                                      Bit of a bummer if the same colors as the 1 IV (I had the purple). So I would take the white. I wonder if the rumor of the Ace in Japan which would also be released elsewhere will be confirmed as well as a hypothetical Pro-I II at the end of the year
