COCONUTZ, 01 May 2023Stock Android is so many years behind OneUI (and others) t... moreTbh Xiaomi and Motorola has built-in Dolby Atmos on some of their phone. Companies are paying to Dolby to this. It's literally impossible for Google to make this feature built-in in AOSP (not Pixel UI) since Android is free, and open-source which means you can also see the line of codes inside Dolby Atmos itself. And ofc Dolby wouldn't be happy for this.

And also, if I remember correctly, Xiaomi also has it's own equalizer.

Eh? I thought we already had separate ring and notification volume control for ages.

At times it's unbelievable, that a company like Google has to take 15yrs to fix such a simple thing or to realise that the customers need it.

Lol, wasn't this a feature before?

Google spending years on a simple volume UI. Make Android run better instead.

This is not a sign of Google moving forward, but rather a sign of falling behind. Even entry-level phones in China have had this feature for a long time.

Surprising this isn't a thing on stock android, when other manufacturers have included this feature for a while now, OOS has it and I'm sure MIUI does too

What would actually be useful is automatic varying ringer volume, so it's loud enough to hear when your phone is in a bag or put down somewhere, but isn't shockingly loud if it rings when you're holding it. Should be easy enough to implement since the phone already detects when you're holding it using the motion sensors.
