Pixel 7a specs leak: 90Hz display, 64MP main cam, wireless charging

02 May 2023
All three are firsts for the Pixel a-series and bring the 7a quite close to the feature set of the Pixel 7.

    Why its not rounded corners?
Even its 6.1" size, why its bigger / wider than S22?. Why cant Google design a compact phone with A series?

I... moreYeah, I don't know why GSMArena insists on calling it a 1/1.37-inch sensor when technically it's not possible since it's just customized. This misinformation also spreads to various tech blogs similar to here. I agree that they could choose to use IMX766 or at least a trimmed version of it instead, as an example.

No way google can push more while keeping same price.

This either means Pixel 8 will be a huge upgrade, or that Pixel a series is the one actually moving lot of units.

"it will be a 1/1.37” Sony IMX787 with 64MP resolution, if rumors are to be believed"
Wrong. The Imx 787 has a pixel size of 0.8 micrometers, so this wouldn't be a 1/1.4" type sensor, but a 41mm² sensor.

                            wired charging is already slow
                            imagine the wireless
a 50.67w wired charging would be more useful

Hopefully they sort out the cooling - having the 6a rely solely on a sheet of graphite for dissipation was a bad idea born out in throttling tests. (Even more so when they use two hot Cortex X series cores, not just one)

They won't becuase the 7 Pro still doesn't have up to date cooling .. I really don't know why they think it is ok. Graphite tape and some copper foil is not enough .. equal price (and cheaper) phones have heat pipes or even heat chambers.

If you not playing Genshin maybe it doesn't matter.

                                Title: "Pixel 7a specs leak"

                                Specs:
                                Fast wired charging
                                Google Tensor G2

MRSTEK, 02 May 2023The main camera is IMX787, which is derived from IMX 686. I... moreI hope that you GSMArena team could fix some errors about IMX787, it's still labeled as 1/1.3 in your database.

The main camera is IMX787, which is derived from IMX 686. It's 1/1.7 sensor with upgraded octo-PD autofocus capabilities compared with 686.

It is indeed an upgrade over IMX363, though personally I think they should offer 1/1.57 at this price range.

Besides, the specs of this phone is generally conservative. Maybe they are trying to not outshine pixel 7.

Anonymous, 02 May 2023Usb 3.1 port with cable 2.0 .... 😒That's status quo. 3.1+ cables need more pins, more wires, better counter EMI layers...

I remember that not a single brand is shipping phones with 3.1+ cables.

So this will be a Pixel 7 but a slightly lesser width¿
Anyways, I got my first Pixel the Pixel 7 in January this year and it's been a very underwhelming experience.
Extremely average phone in almost every department.
This will be my last Pixel.
