Malcanthet, 10 Apr 2013Microsoft? They've been sued for monopolizing their service... moreExactly, so putting yourself in their shoes, wouldn't you do the same? Everyone sues everyone with alarming regularity, some childish, some not so much... 98% is an horrendous figure and until such time as a workable solution can be found, corporate litigation seems like a viable option to keep such a force in check, regardless of who it is.

Nokia and the others in Fairsearch coalition really should be a lot more cautious before going to bed with the likes of Microsoft. Consider this scenario..
Technology research and advisory firm Gartner predicted in a recent report that shipments of devices using Google’s (NASDAQ: GOOG) Android will far exceed shipments of Windows personal computers and phones by 2017. Further, Gartner predicts that by 2017 the number of tablets, mobile phones and ultra-mobile devices will total 2.7 billion units, roughly 10 times the number of desktop and notebook personal computers. These expectations reflect the pervasive belief that the future in computing is clearly mobile. Should these expectations materialize, it would spell certain doom for Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT), whose software and other products depend heavily on the personal computer. The company was extremely late to the mobile game, and still doesn't have a pronounced footprint in mobile. With this in mind, could tech giant Microsoft really cease to exist only a few short years from now? Is it really on the brink of vanishing from the Earth, or are fears of the company’s impending irrelevance overblown???

What about Apple forcing every IOS user to use Safari.
Yes, U can download a 3rd party browser but you can't set any 3rd party browser to default. Which means every time u click on a web link in apps/email, Safari opens by default.

Oh, I know, you're just deliberately misinforming people.

This is plain jelousy.
Here's a tip for the 17 companies suing Google.
1) Go to the Android Open Source Project. (source.android.com).
2) Compile your own Android version, delete anything Google related. Insert your own Search Engine, Mail service,Browser, Music Service, etc.
3) Sell your Device with your own Android version. Make moneyz.

So for "Fair Search" it's a fair search as long as you use all other searches except Google's right? I don't see a problem in Google putting THEIR products in the OS that THEY are releasing.
Much like Microsoft putting their Bing in every WP/OS system.
Heck, Microsoft ARE the biggest monopoly in the market! why is no one taking them apart? they should split their Windows from all it's other Microsoft components and put other's software.

Hey, by the way, it's only a search engine. Everyone can use what search engine wants ....
It is truth that Google use first page of results for advertiser ads BUT if you know how to search you will look rapidly on them and go to next pages of search results. Google help ppl to find info they need and also they support big time Android platforms, so is normally that they should include their products in mobile market. Who use Bing ? Maybe is good but compare with Google or others it really sucks hard !!
when I need a torrent I don't search with google ....
For music I use other search tool ... and so on.
Microsoft puts un-usefull things on their software ... how use photo manager from Windows ? I use IrfanView, 10x better than MS photo editor ...
So it's a free world, everybody use what he likes and loves and easy to use thing they want. I use Mozilla instead of Chrome ... better graphics and much more usefull addons. Peace !!!

Who said anything about Fairsearch doing the investigating? What Fairsearch wants is for the European Commission to look into this. I frankly don't understand how anyone could oppose to that.
