How good or bad is the processor? And drop in RAM?

The price is pretty good (one of rare significant drops) and with a headphone jack and stereo speakers seems to make it a good prospect.

    "I'm not debating with you. You don't matter"

    You're not debating because your bluff has been called and you have nothing constructive to say. Most people prioritize their intake of "stuff" in questionable economies. A smartphone upgrade isn't high up on their list of priorities.

I think they don't belong in 250$ segment but they are perfectly fine on budget phones. Plus they come with some benefits like better battery life and better gaming performance which some people appreciate more than crisp image, especially because of battery life.

          Also I would take good quality 720p screen over dim uncalibrated 1080p screen that can be found on budget devices from Xiaomi for example.

            Now I understand why everyone in US has iPhone, Samsung and Pixel. Their budget market sucks. Believe it or not these motorola phones at this price point are actually considered good deal for them.

            Chinese manufacturers are usually not available as they don't have adequate network bands

              Anders, 02 May 2023Are manufacturers trying to go bankrupt? Sales are already ... moreWhere is your source citing that declining sales are directly linked to "bad specs"? I'd love to analyse it.

              A lot can lead to weaker sales:
              - Weaker economies, making people keep their phones for longer;
              - Longer lasting products, making people keep their phones for longer;
              - More people already having smartphones.
              - The newer hardware not being attractive enough as a proposition. (Your "bad specs" are included in this category);
              - The newer software not being attractive enough;
              - Better deals from other brands.

              I'm sure there's more, these are just from the top of my head.

                Still have Moto g 5g Plus from 2020...
                Now that was and is a nice phone.
                This not so much.

                  Are manufacturers trying to go bankrupt? Sales are already plummeting and they keep doing this kind of weak BS

                  And anyone defending this can GTFOH

                    Consumers - Smartphones couldn't possibly get any worse

                    Manufacturers - hold our beer

                    We've gone so far backwards in the last 4 years it's ridiculous and the people defending this BS are pathetic bootI¡ck¡ng A-holes

                          The Moto G is a great successor to the 2022 model considering the massive reduction in price. The Moto G Stylus, I‘m not so sure, but it might still be better slightly value when the cost is 33% less.

Stop judging budget phones like you would a flagship. 720p is unacceptable when spending 1000$. Not the case for a quarter that price.

                                You're forgetting that a large percentage of the population doesn't have perfect vision.

                                Not only that, but for a huge chunk of the market personal computers weren't even a thing until they were adults, let alone smartphones. If we look at the whole history of display tech anything over SD is relatively new.

                                Is it important for tech to move forward? Of course. But not every phone needs to be for tech enthusiasts that want the cutting edge, you know? A lot of people (especially the elderly) just don't care.

                                  outdated SoC ... not worth more thab 100 bucks

                                    Last year's devices were already cheap enough. $400 for the 2022 G 5G might sound expensive, but pretty much every carrier and retailer was selling it for like $250 by July. As for the Stylus, I... don't really know. It sucks, that's all I'll say.

                                      It's 2023 and manufacturers still think it's acceptable to release sub 1080p phones.
