and again subscriptions! such programs should require a one-time purchase, not monthly tribute payment.

LazyEngineer, 10 May 2023Ah yes Apple devices made for "Professionals." ... moreYou can fully build iOS apps fully deliverable on App Store on iPad via playgrounds.

But for devs.. I agree you fully need MacOS. Because it can run all IDE known to man. Visual studio, android studio, Xcode, IntelliJ, netbeans, etc etc.

Plus if you fully decked a M2 Max with 96GB ram... think of all the VM you can run test on.. plus 22hrs of fully unplugged? No dev computer comes close.

Only if your profession is to edit photos and videos of yourself twérking on tiktok....

Or a western journalist who like to type articles about country which is on other part of globe on ground realities based on his hypothetical imagination.

Or that poor dev who is forced to buy Mac because apple will not provide iOS build library on any other OS outside Mac & cheese.....

As a owner of new M2 iPad Pro, this is a great news!! Interesting to try how powerful product that really is, also as an audio/music producer it gives me finally chance to try Logic as a DAW, because i don't have Mac.

          Well done Apple, well done!

looks like Apple will kill their own product, which is the Macbook line

I wouldn't be even able to run my regular photo editing app on an iPad, for instance, even though specs-wise it should be perfectly capable of doing so.

Right now, the latest M2-powered iPad Pro is a huge waste of potential and has incredibly niche use cases that will sway most people towards Macbook.

Monthly payments these days are horrible. It is enough to have 3-4 apps and 50€ per month is gone. I would rather pay once a full price.

I'm still one of those who are 100% convinced that iPad Pro should be running MacOS instead of iPadOS. Seriously, it's about time.

everything is becoming a subscription based service, unlike before where its just a one-time payment and you just pay for added features, now they want you to continuously pay indefinitely whether they do/don't add new features or even push future updates.

Still waiting for Apple to put macOS on iPad, at least for the Pro model. Can't imagine giving an overkill chipset like the M1 when it still runs on glorified iOS.

Cool, now if only I was stupid enough to give apple a single cent in my entire life. They've made pennies off me from app store YouTube music subscription.

I will be looking for an ipad pro if the apps are not mickey mouse gimped

I think it will be a much lighter version, reducing a lot of functionalities.
