Google unveils Pixel 7a with Tensor G2, 90Hz display and 64MP camera

10 May 2023
This is a significant upgrade over the 6a, in fact, the specs are quite close to the flagship Pixel 7, except the a-phone is cheaper.

Wait, Ultrawide camera with Dual Pixel Autofocus??? So 7A have aurofocus on its UW camera while 7 didn't have it? I assume 7A can do macrophotography then unless GSMArena got it all wrong. Even 7A specs page didn't list the Ultrawide with autofocus capability.

I would say a little better than previous year's model.

However, Google is still behind Apple and Samsung in providing Software UpDates.

                    Design is also good.

                          1) no charger in the box
                          2) no 120Hz screen refresh rate and no info about screen brightness (maybe 800 nits)
                          4) Gorilla Glass 3 ??
                          5) one single version of 8/128 Gb
                          6) only 20W wired charge
                          7) the mediocre Google Tensor G2 chip

..at this price bracket you can get better options without even wasting time to think about them....too much sacrifices for good camera and pure Android experience...

The 8/128 GB version of Pixel 7 has been going for 45k in India in Amazon for some time now. So, it doesn't make any sense to get this phone over it at almost no price difference.

Pretty great midranger all around. Too bad for the price. But hey, better than nothing. At least it's one hand able.

I'd rather have weaker SoC like 778, D1300, 7g1 if rest could be better.
