Anyw... moreTetris 1984 one sold more than 500M units, its most sold game ever, and Tetris popularity doesnt come from amount of games sold but from piracy and other un official handheld, those chinese handheld which cost $1 or less usual come pre loaded with tetris, most 1990s or lower kids knows about this.

Switch is handheld console which has locked eco system with proprietary weak hardware, which is very outdated comparing to PC handheld consoles. PC handheld consoles like Deck or Ally is well PC, is not consoles. It runs PC operating system Windows 11 and Linux and it runs PC games, not consoles games. So technically any PC game in existence (thousands bigger library than all consoles combined ever) if it is available in Steam or any other Launcher should run on these PC handhelds and they are very powerful, also because it runs PC games you can run games with different graphical settings the way you want. You want nice graphics you crank the settings up but it will run in lower frame rates, you want high frame rates, you just lower graphics settings and play games with high frame rates you the king of choice. Also it is PC so it can emulate any shitty Switch game or any other console game if you know how to run emulators. To summarize PC handhelds are the future of handheld gaming, and consoles like Switch is like dying dinosaur, will be extinct in no time, they are weak locked down in eco system, has few games and it runs poorly with poor graphics without any way for user to update game setrings. The only appeal Switch has it that it has Nintendo games and it's cheap, once PC handhelds get cheap eventually, Nintendo handelds will have no appeal for anyone except hardcore Nintendo fans.

Anonymous, 13 May 2023Obviously, the Asus ROG Ally is much more powerful than the... moremy guess is honestly while it will be more powerful than steam deck it wont cross ps4 performace (rog does that barely with like 30w comsumption) and it will be in between steam deck and rog and that's good actually
nintendo is literally using currently mobile(technically modified tegra soc made for tablets) soc withgpu and games are optimised hell out of it) currently nintendo is getting 4-5 hours of battery life as they are running whole device at 3-4W comsumption with 16 whr battery,i expect them to increase it to 25-30whr with battery density improvements these days
or maybe more and have a custom chip running at 7-8W with more gpu(it will be based on 4000 nvidia series architecture which is effiecient slightly more than rdna 3)
rog chip they are using isn't made for handhelds and has more cpu cores than it needs seriously it does not need more than 4 zen 4 cores forget about 8 which are being wasted ,neither it does hit sweet spot for efficiency to battery life(steam deck can still do 720p aaa games at 10w for 4 hour battery life) and 12cu might do more damage the than good in performace(seriously series s for eg has 20cu which needs more wattage to strech it legs)
one advantage nobody here mentions is since switch will be based on 4000 series switch will have dlss3 probably enabled for almost all new games surpassing any rog ally with laptop chip for next two years lol
i am saying switch will no surpass ps4 cause they wanna keep normal battery life and not have like 1 hour battery life but they will boast dlss 2 and 3 for sure

One of the main reasons that the Wii U failed is that there weren't enough great first-party games in the launch period. The Wii U was released in 2012. Mario Kart 8 was released in 2014. That was too late. Another main reason is that only a handful of games utilize the Wii U GamePad.

The Asus ROG Ally is a 2023 device. People understand that technology advances a lot in 6 years. There is no need to disrespect the intelligence level of other people by explaining too much. The point is that games that use the full power of the Switch lasts 4 to 5 hours on the Switch OLED.

The combined sales of Super Mario Odyssey, Super Mario Party, and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe are over 60 million units. These are only sales of some Switch games. GTA and FIFA don't hold a candle to Mario as a series.
