Or on Laptops, the cheaper thicker models have more RAM and SSD slots than the expensive thin ones. So cheap and repairable are in fact not mutually exclusive.

Anonymous, 12 May 2023Very cool. But what about sound? When it is all about bass ... moreThey "can't beat it" because that sound profile is... "unique" 😂 Don't get me wrong, it's perfectly fine to like extra bass (I also like bass). I'm just saying there's a logical reason why they don't do it, or why audio engineers would never use something like that in a studio.

Very cool. But what about sound? When it is all about bass I've never met a headphone that can beat my Skullcandy Crusher Evo unless it is another Skullcandy. You turn on the built in sensory bass and you have your own subwoofer. No any Sony or Bose or Sennheiser or Apple can beat them. Plus battery life is long and built quality is great.

If the sound quality is on par with my Anker Soundcore Life Q30. Then it will be awesome.

Fearghast, 12 May 2023I know it is not fashionable to focus on the sound quality ... moreI think they will sound ok. Nothing special, and almost definitely not as good as a pair of earphones that aren't repairable at the same price

I guess this is the reason why they removed the headphone jack in the latest Fairphone. That's fair.

While I appreciate the modular wireless headphones (great for those with no headphone jacks), they should reconsider bringing back the headphone jack in their phones, plus if this headset had an aux jack it'd be perfect.

Competition is the reason for innovation and improvement.
Fairphone creates low-end phones and offers them at the highest possible price, so to speak, it creates the worst possible product and offers it at the worst possible price.
This way, you can't expect a customer to buy your product. At this price, you can buy a similar or even better device for a third of the money and repair it several times with the rest of the money, which you would have spent on just buying the fairphone device.

I know it is not fashionable to focus on the sound quality of headphones any more ... but do they at least sound decent?

Super stoked! Wish them nothing but success.
If only they sold products in my country, I'd buy them in a heartbeat

rizki1, 12 May 2023modular should be cheap, if not it's nothing. You realise that the race to the bottom is what’s making everything cheap, unrepairable and unsustainable, right?

It’s both harder and more expensive to design a product that’s easily repairable and that has parts from sustainable and responsible suppliers.

I agree that cheap things should be easily repairable too, but this is our reality right now…

Not sure about you guys, but imo headphones should never be called "buds", it's just wrong.

anything recyclable should always be cheaper if they really cared about recycling like every other company they shouldn't make you overpay for used parts

modular should be cheap, if not it's nothing.

What a nice piece of environmental friendly tech.
                                        I am amazed.
Oh yes and many rather say clumsy people said you cant change battery on wireless earphones.
                                        This definitely proves opposite.
                                        Fairphone a job well done.
                                        Congratulations.
