Oppo arent the only ones snd through the last 10 years ive seen apple going after tonnes of companies and themselves breaching numerous patents, i think at this point all and every phone company has and have refused to pay.

Everyone i know that has an oppo device including myself love them, i literally had a pixel 6 pro before my current oppo phone and its night and day which is the better experience (told my mate to get the x2 pro over his galaxy note, he loves his x2 pro and it gets all the updates still, its on android 13).

No oneplus lost its sales because they went from flagship killer to full blown £1000 flagship, people use oxygenOS situation to give themselves a reason to hate (and the fact the quality in hardware just hasnt been there for a few years now).

Oh well left with the mainstream rubbish in a couple years, least i got to experience the fun times through the 00's and 10's.

Anonymous, 15 May 2023Also, Europeans don’t buy their phones in a contract, at le... moreWell, sorry but that is not true.
Nothing goes on the main stream market without a contract. Only a few person here are ready to shove out any serious amount of money for a smartphone. 1€ phones are common. Even if they are brand new. Here in Germany sometimes they make 2 contracts to get a premium phone (even the most expensive iPhone) for 1€ plus a very cheap, useless second phone. It's ridiculous.
So I don't know where you've got your info, but it's false, or you have a very smart set of friends. But it's not common mainstream.

Super Android 22, 15 May 2023If they really have breached nokia patents then why havent ... moreBecause decent companies that not make a living from lawsuits usually send a "cease and desist" before going to court. And Oppo/OnePlus sales are on a decline everywhere but China for very obvious and fundamental reasons: when you fail to understand your customer, the customer walks. Just look at OnePlus downfall, went from being universally recommended for their fantastic OxygenOS experience, to now being very much discarded.

Oppo was still using nokia's tech without new contract and payment.
                  Nokia sued oppo.

Super Android 22, 15 May 2023If they really have breached nokia patents then why havent ... moreNokia had taken oppo to court to prevent sales until situation was solved.
Then oppo had 2 choices: Coming to agreement with nokia or quit selling phones.
Oppo has decided for the second option.

Anonymous, 15 May 2023Blame oppo. Oppo just needs to pay nokia. Simple. If they really have breached nokia patents then why havent nokia just taken oppo to court over it? If its true they would easily win and coup back whatever money owed and more (what happens to ssmsung and apple pretty much yearly).

Using simple logic it cant be the only thing affecting Oppo's decision. I know sales havent been good (it wont be when most people go lizard brain when buying so only get samsung and apple now, complete monopolisation of the market at this point) so probably the main reason. You can't keep pumping tonnes of money in to something to not reap back the profits. Phone msrket is going to become a very boring place soon.
