Unless you do it for a living there is no need. You simply have too much money, give it to some homeless person instead, you will feel better.
My smartphone is 4/5 years old, still going strong, before had one for 3+ years, before that minimum 2 years and thats when the upgrades were way bigger then today. And even then it was passed to someone who used it.
Just cause you can doesnt mean you should.

rizki1, 15 May 2023sad but the market there Oppo is not too strong. European b... moreIn Europe 99% of the people will ONLY buy iPhone/Galaxy. Other brands are barely surviving, thanks to carriers.
Back in the day when Nokia was a real smartphone maker, they were having difficulty selling their phones that didn't say made in Finland on the back, behind the battery. It was a trend to refuse Nokia phones that had 'made in china' logo on the back. That's how interesting are chinese brands to Europe.
Carriers are desperately trying to lure people to get chinese brands by offering them for free with a 2 year contract. Otherwise nobody would actually get one . They are highly undesired.
Also, why bother with a replica brand when you can get the original instead?
Europe wants quality, not quantity. That's our motto .

Nothing new...it's no secret that the European market has lost all it's glance of yesteryear. If you would own a company and you would be facing declining sales YoY, would you remain in that market or cut your losses and focus on the markets where you sell well?
That is exactly what is happening with Oppo and Co. They don't need the European market to survive, their home market is already large enough to live and they are doing well in the other Asian markets as well.
And when you take some to reflect about things, our society is more and more confronted with the limits of mass consumption. And it's about time to think about how we consume and how companies can think about re-inventing themselves.
Let's be honest, it's all but normal that we are conditioned to buy a new device each year, regardless of the working condition of the old one. It's certainly not normal that companies adopt dirty methods such as programmed deterioration just for the sake of pushing consumers to buy their latest and greatest. The only thing that it will achieve is the destruction of our planet and us as a race if we continue as such. And yes, it sounds exaggerated but is it?

The BBK brands are suffering from lack of focus and commitment. Senior management achieved the nearly impossible, destroy all good work that OnePlus and other Oppo brands achieved in Europe. We have here a combination of factors, from fundamentals with the product (e.g., shoving ColorOS down OxygenOS customers), lack of commitment to long term strategies (e.g., killing the independent SoCs and other components), to the asinine disregard for legal agreements and enforceable patents in key markets (i.e., what we have now in Germany).
The whole mark of proper business managers is (for the lack of a better word) managing these factors. It is evident that BBK management is failing miserably.

Everytime one more player leaves, the monopoly of Aplle and others gets worse. I don't buy chinese phone brands, but this is bad news.
