Slow charging kills battery faste... moreI use my tablet while it is charging.
12W and it does not get any hot.
I had done it many times.
While xiaomi phones go 56 celsius even without being touched. I want to know why.

Shadocx, 15 May 2023This dude has been out of his mind for quite some time now,... moreHe should change name of his store to "My Mi Store". 🤭
Everything is gimmick and useless, only useful stuff is what xiaomi has.
He compares prices of xiaomi sold in China against european prices of other brands, but ignores xiaomi in Europe charges 100-150% more compared to same devices sold in China.
Mi 12 pro was €1200.
Mi 12T pro was €840.
Mi 13 is €1000.
Mi13 pro is €1400.
Final prices of these devices are not even €450.
With these prices, profit margin per unit is surely even above iphones. But somehow he thinks xiaomi earns 5% per device.

Put your fingers on one of those joke pens that give you a shock. That's normal charging for you.
Now, imagine doing the same but putting your fingers on the wall outlet. That's fast charging.
It's simple physics law. More energy means more heat output because there are no superconductors and energy dissipates and escapes the system somehow. In most cases, it becomes heat and goes away like that.

You are... moreDo note though, that laptops use 65W or 90W adapters, but that's mostly meant to keep enough energy input if you are charging and working on something CPU demanding, in order to keep charging the battery + give power to the system at the same time.
Some laptops also use the extra power for "Fast Charging". Dell calls it "Express Charge" on its business line-up, but you can disable that. Under normal circumstances, it charges the battery at a flat rate while keeping battery temps under 40 celsius degree. That's why you wont see any laptop charging to 100% in less than 30 mins like those Chinese OEMs like to brag about on marketing material.
The same rule applies to Gaming laptops, which tend to use bigger power bricks.

Difference is that fast charging phones become hot regardless of whether you use them or not while charging, and that damages battery way faster than just classic overnight trickle charge.

Good. Maybe those marketing clowns will finally stop

Wrong, 15 May 2023This is completely opposite. Phone never gets warmer to tou... moreMan maybe.
But even old Samsung S3, S4 or S5 were very hot when charging and you had to keep your phone intact.
Try run a game while it charging and your battery is done for within a month. And Old Samsung from 2012-2015 had a realyl slow chargers.
Same goes for new phones apart the fact you dont see how battery gets afloat because you cant just put away your back cover.
Lastly since time is moey faster is always better.
Thats why cars replaced horses, boats replaced row boats, we got planes to travel within few hours from Paris to New York for example instead of using train and ship and took a several weeks long ride etc.
With phones its same. I rather will have a full charge as i brush my teeth or eat breakfast than waiting 3 hours for nothing unable to use my phone and leave my house.

Slow charging kills battery faste... moreYou cannot be serious. You should be comedian.
You are saying that slow charging makes phones hotter than fast charging? 🤣😂🤣
Phone charged at 10/12W will not be at 40/45/50 celsius. This is beyond impossible.
You can test any device. They are not even gonna pass 30 celsius.
While BBk and xiaomi phones are always above 45. Mainly xiaomi that reach near 60 celsius. This temperature is even hotter than phones powered by Snapdragon 810 while gaming.
My previous phone had support for 18, but my charger was 15W. Phone never got any hotter than 29 celsius. My current has 20W, it gets warmer, a bit.
You do not see and will never phones charging at 65, 80, 100, 120, 150, 200, 300W kept at 29-33 celsius.
Laptops have used charging over 60W for more than 10 years. My previous (had core 3rd gen cpu) had support for 90W. If you charge laptop everyday, be sure that in less than 15 months you need new battery.
By the way, tell us why chinese phones do not reach the value advertised. If brand says phone has 200W, should charge at 200W, not peak 170W that lasts 3s and then goes down to 80. Mix4 (120W) could not even reach 90.
It is weird redmi note with 68W that is only 10min faster than galaxy A54 that has 25W. 🤔

thedeev1, 15 May 2023No??? Trickle charging means your phone doesn't heat u... moreMan you funny.
Charging your battery from flat to full in 5-10 minutes with 300W charger does much less damage than charging it with poor painfully slow 15-25W charger which takes good 2-3 hours to top up flat battery.
By the way time is money and faster is always better.
Thats why we invented cars instead of horses, we invented planes, we invented boats instead of row shuttles etc.
Since you cant buy time its the most precious thing you have so its upon each individual how it will spend it.
But to me waiting eons to charge a phone when it can be ready as i brush my teeth or eat breakfast is a way to go.

thedeev1, 15 May 2023No??? Trickle charging means your phone doesn't heat u... moreno. why slow charging become hot is because their user always use phone when slow charging well basically because it take to loong and the user bored without phone or sometime someone calling you and use phone while charging.

oofio2461, 15 May 2023The EU should require 10 YEARS of software updates on phone... more10 years is a bit too much, but mandating updates while the phone is still under warranty would already be a pretty good starting point. The EU can be hit and miss with their regulations, but this time around it seems like we'll have a winner: it's about time someone did something about this.

oofio2461, 15 May 2023The EU should require 10 YEARS of software updates on phone... moreI'd rather they mandated all phones to include headphone jack, microSD and chargers in the box capable of charging the phone at its top speed. I've if your phone supports 25w charging it should come with a 25w charger. Not a 15w one

Slow charging kills battery faste... moreNo??? Trickle charging means your phone doesn't heat up at all. Remains cold, therefore longer battery life. Can confirm from firsthand experience.
I only fast charge my phone in a pinch because that's when it becomes hot. Not when I am trickle charging it overnight. Are you sure you know what you are talking about?

Cpt.Power, 15 May 2023Man othervise its true. Slow charging kills battery faste... moreThis is completely opposite. Phone never gets warmer to touch with with slow charger, while it heats up with quick charger. Got a Nexus 7 tablet in my car instead of head unit. 8 years with original battery and slow wireless charger that basically keeps it always between 20 and 80%. Battery still works believe it or not.
