I think that tab 3 should be a high end tablet. In the end, which will be the flagship tab for this year? I don't think Samsung will build the note 2 10.1 but if it is still the budget oriented one, maybe using the exynos 5 of the nexus 10 will be just as good.

Anonymous, 15 Apr 2013Wow 3rd gen & still on dual core. I wonder whats the di... moreGalaxy tab 3 8.0 is the replacement of Galaxy tab 2 7.0 which was the entry level tablet of Samsumg.
Tab 2 had a 7" display with a resolution of 1024x600 and was powered by a dual core A9 at 1Ghz, made by now out of bussines Texas Instruments.
Tab 3 will have a 8" display, resolution 1280x800, most probably powered by the same processor as in Nexus 10, a dual core A15. In case you don't know, a 2xA15 > 4xA9. Also, it's worth mentioning that this entry level device will have a better processor (except the graphical part) then the best of what Apple has to offer right now.
Again, this are entry level devices, NOT TOP OF THE LINE. The "note" line is the high end, and probably will get updated at the end of the summer.
Also, worth mentioning, tab 2 is cheaper then Nexus 7 at the moment, so I expect some competitive pricing from Samsung for tab 3. The only dilemma I have here is the presence of dual core A15

What is the point of making 1GB RAM tablet these days? I want to view 10+ tabs at the same time without having to reload them again. Wake up Samsung.

AnonD-122895, 15 Apr 2013Still sub-par devices. Don't waste time on Samsung again. You're spot on mate! Samsung's tablets suck major balls when compared to, say, Asus. Same price range, two different worlds in terms of quality and update history.
With those specs these new tabs will need to cost peanuts to actually grab any attention.

Interesting as I was thinking of picking up a 10" tab @£249 from JL which is good value for the spec and as an entry into android tablet market. Will now wait for the TAB3. Sony Z beautiful but the price difference not worth it for a first venture into the TAB world as this area developing fast.
