Can Lava deliver on the software front? And I am not even talking about software updates. It doesn't matter if it has near stock UI or custom skin. The overall software experience matters.

It has, essentially the same SoC, Better Camera (with OIS) and two years of OS updates. The only thing it lacks is 120Hz refresh rate and stereo speakers. It is also 1k cheaper too.
            Apart from that, I don't any other phone comes close to LAVA in this segment. I hope they will deliver.

                  First, they will try to capture market share in their local market.. THen, they will think about expanding their business..

                  And, at that particular Price Range, No Chin€se company provide 2 OS Updates..
                  Only Samsung is the brand that provide 2 OS Updates at this price...
                  Rest brands - only One or Zero

                  Hardware wise, they have provided something that no other phone could beat at this price..
                  I just want to see it's camera performance, rest I'm sure It is equally capable and even better than it's chin€se competitor offerings..

                  Camera is something that Not even Big brands are able to optimize well for a particular sensors that they put in their phones. Personally, I don't feel it's camera would be great.. Most likely this will have average performance like it's competitors.. nothing special

                      It's sales are starting on May 24. It's not even listed on Amazon website where it is scheduled to be sold. I'm also waiting to see exact specs..

                          Moreover, their service centers are widely spread. However, I'm not sure about Lava in EU/US or even in India ?

                          I do appreciate Lava best of luck and not end like how Micromax had baked their sales on the name of nation.

                            Just think, When every other company is manufacturing it's phones in India, even Chinese Companies phones that are sold in India are actually 'MADE IN INDIA'.

                            Then, why you think that Lava will make this phone in China and then further incur extra IMPORT costs and taxes.. Do you believe, if it was MADE in CHINA OR Anywhere else, it would be possible to keep the prices So Low ??

                            There are many Import costs and tax duties / custom duties that No CEO or company would like to pay if it is possible to make/manufacture it's company's product in the local country itself to keep the prices low and avoid extra expenses.

There is no proof about it on their site, or anywhere else. They only talk about how it was DESIGNED in India, which I do believe and that is very nice.

                                Please don't misunderstand me, I fully support Lava in what they are doing and I believe this new Agni 2 to be one of the best value phones this year so far. I just don't believe their phones are manufactured in India, not that I think that matters, as long as their phone works well and is of high quality.

                                    Xiaomi 13 Ultra might look a bit like this and this has

                                      India is now World's 2nd Largest smartphone manufacturer due to efforts by new Modi Government. Manufacturing industries have seen a boom here.

                                      When all Chin€se Companies phones in India are ALSO "MADE IN INDIA"..
                                      Samsung has World's Largest Smartphone manufacturing plant in India..

                                      Then, why cannot Lava make this phone which is "MADE IN INDIA" ?? Cannot you just read what is written in the article. Why not you just tell the name of Chin€se smartphone it is rebrand of ?? You cannot provide details, because it is not a Copy Paste like other Chin€se companies which launch same phone in 9 other names.

                                      You can clearly see, as they don't have too much R&D resource now, they just launched it in only one colour, and in only one storage variant. And their design is just Generic.. Nothing special... Because they don't have enough money right now to have better Design team.

                                      They are just trying to provide an alternative phone in the market which is filled with Chin€se overpriced crappy phones.

                                      I'm just skeptical about it's camera performance. Because providing hardware is another thing, camera needs "software optimisations" which I'm sure, this phone would not be great and just provide average camera performance, because again it needs money to have better R&D and support team to optimise software and hardware.

                                      But, I know this phone will sell like hot cakes.. and kill the sales of Chin€se phones in 20-30K segment. As it offers, 8+256gb storage variant at 20k which other Chin€se companies provide at 30K (at 10K more price ~ $125 more for same – at 50% percent higher price than this phone)..
