The downside of Poco phones is their update cycle. They suck at providing updates to their devices. Other thing which I hate about Xiaomi is that if your phone's software got f**ed up and it enters EDL mode then you will have to pay random persons upto 30$ for just fixing up your device.

Carol, 22 May 2023Is good that you show the "Positive" SD 8Gen1 but... moreWhats there to talk about why it's cheaper ? Everyone knows that Xiaomi is Chinese brand that is already so big that can afford to buy hardware parts in millions and cut the cost down on there phones by not use the latest and the best our of the market parts and materials.
It's not like old brands who have lost there market share on customers and want to scam them with higher price with budget hardware phones like HMD Nokia is asking 600 euro for a phone that has SD695 in them and also dont have some special good screen or special great camera on them.
Even when Xiaomi cut cost down on there materials and hardware to use older cameras and so on will still be a lot better then HMD phone with half the price.
Poco F5 specs in HMD Nokia branding would probably over 1000 euro phone

people like them always charge their phone 2-3/day
because gaming.

Where is the option for already bought it? ended my search for a midrange phone without much compromises. 1/2" main cam does the job but don't expect much, you have OIS at least and 4k60 with gcam. MIUI takes some getting used to and debloat but it does the job. Headphone jack actually sounds better than speakers. Not much to complain for $315.
Here were the competitors at my price point that I almost bought but something doesn't convince me in the end:
A52s: hard to find new units anymore, 778G
X5 Pro: mediocre camera sensor, no OIS, 778G
A73: costs more than F5, no headphone jack, no charger included, 778G
LG V60: nice old flagship, teardrop notch, fragile charging port, last update on a13, large size
S20 FE 5G: costs more than F5, no jack, android 13 final, only 15W charger included
A53: exynos
A54: costs more than F5, no jack, no charger included, exynos
Pixel 6a: sadly no local warranty, slow charging battery, heat issues
Nothing (1): really overpriced here 778G+, LEDs too flashy for me

It's all down to personal use.

Those still in bellow 80watt were all eager to jump to 100watt+ charging revolution.
We really hope xiaomi have the solution.

I'm rocking a Poco F3 currently, after using an F1 for longer than I should have probably.
Overall I have been happy with both, but I wonder if Xiaomi learned their lesson yet and implemented a hardware proximity sensor this time?
Also, my F3 has the dreaded green tint issue on the screen unfortunately.
Overall I think that the F1 was legendary in its day, but of the two F5's, I'd go for the regular F5, especially with it's headphone jack.
It's still (subjectively) about 30% more powerful than the SD 870 in my F3, so worth the upgrade I guess for some.
I'll probably skip this generation though as my F3 is good enough for now, and prices have generally increased since it came out - at least where I live.
Maybe I'll jump on the F6.

potato4k, 22 May 2023These people claiming they have 1TB SD card on their phones... moreI owned 256GB SD-card on my old Poco F1.
I only managed to fill it about 120GB because I really can't do much with it.
I can't install any app, just able to use it as storage for music/pic/video.
SD-card as of now is really not usefull, and I really wonder anyone here that keep saying that.

Poco F5 is definitely my choice. I've learnt to live with MIUI for 5 years and its become the OS of choice. It is certainly not the best BUT it gets the job done. The best comment I read that justifies this pricing; is the inferior quality of certain materials used so the markup of the production of these pair of phones are lower.

My only grief with the Poco F5 series is the 66 watt charging.
But, well, this F5 series already a good device at it's price point.
And solid when compared to other competitor.
............. Being used to 120watt charging is a luxury
............. I hope xiaomi didn't lost out in charging speed.

Is good that you show the "Positive" SD 8Gen1 but why not talking about the negative that comes with the price? Or about the "why" is it cheaoper? Talking about that, would probably make GSMarena fanbase ignorance go down a notch...

Anonymous, 22 May 2023While forgetting the fact that Xiaomi use lower-grade or ol... moreGorilla Glass Victus and an LTPO AMOLED are not necessary, especially at this price point. This phone has Gorilla Glass 5, which is strong enough. You can also use a tempered glass screen protector with it. While an LTPO AMOLED would be a nice to have, it would likely increase the price substantially. This phone already has a 120 HZ AMOLED panel that can automatically dial down to 60 HZ. Other than these, it is practically a flagship experience at a fraction of the price. Plus, it has features like an IR blaster, headphone jack (base F5), and faster charging, which companies like Samsung do not offer.
