PorkHotdog, 25 May 2023I had the original PSP and it was a pos. Idk what success y... moreThe PSP was not immediately abandoned like the Vita. And it's funny because the Nintendo crowd still flocked to buy the DS lineup when all they can offer was just a slightly bumped up GBA experience.
Not to mention the incremental variants that they sell to their uber loyal fans.

e-waste. how much are they going to charge for this, the price of Steam Deck?🙄

Daemon Targaryen, 25 May 2023PSP sold 80M. It wasn't 160M like the DS but that'... moreThis is all true.

hmm, 25 May 2023Kind of pointless if it's only for games that you have... moreI actually have one set of pre charged to 2500mAh and after i recharge it be 2325mAh.
I had them for xbox 360 original wireless gamepad and it didnt last me long cause receiver broke down and new was to expensive to make sense to buy as i got Chinese fake xbox one wireless controller for the same price as the xbox 360 receiver was. Around 20 euro or so. But well it has the built in battery so it wont last long. Then again i stopped playing games also something few years ago cause new games are boring same grind and nothing new or interesting.

Kind of pointless if it's only for games that you have installed on your ps5 box so it's a bit pointless. What will give you that extra screen on a gamepad for games when you play with it behind like home big screen TV ?

Also this would make sense only for cloud gaming so you just pay the gaming fee for the subscription on the app to have access to there games without the need to have a console at home. If the game is running in cloud anyways then you dont need good phone for the games. Just need good internet connection and a screen. Phones are with big enough screens now that they be perfect for handheld gaming devices.

To be hones Samsung Rulable screen would make sense to make a gamepad attached to it and have it like on top so the gamepad have the battery and sim card slot for internet and also wifi modem and probably even fits some cooling too in the gamepad. Better would be if you can use the AA batteries as you get something 2200mAh plus rechargeable batteries and if gamepad fits 2 of them that gives enough game time

Greedy Sony. This is to increase even more the sales of PS5. And of course, to make more profit.
Why not make a dedicated portable console, like PSP or PSVita, but with today technology? Something like 7" 1080p Oled display with 90Hz refresh rate, that can play triple A games.

"features an 8-inch LCD screen with 1080p resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate"

Come on now, it's 2023, even most entry levels phone at around 100 eur have 90 Hz at least and they are not considered "gaming".

PorkHotdog, 25 May 2023I had the original PSP and it was a pos. Idk what success y... morePSP sold 80M. It wasn't 160M like the DS but that's better than how much a Steam Deck and ROG Ally will ever sell combined.

I had the opposite experience from you. Loved my PSP. Hated my DS Lite that I don't even want to emulate games from it and I already paid for DraStic on Android. I don't like seeing two displays.

I like to kick back and play games. DS emulation forces me to look at the bottom screen on my Z Flip 3 which is perfect for DS emulation. A modded Vita is way better than a modded 3DS. 3DS was only on par to a PSP. Vita was more powerful than a Wii.

Nintendo offers us WEAK hardware and redundant child-like games while still being pr*cks in the video game industry since the 80s. That's why so many third-party developers hates working with Nintendo.

Steam Deck and Switch are proof that people want and will pay for dedicated handheld gaming while almost every attempt at cloud gaming has crashed and burned. This just completely misses the mark. Not only is this a product that nobody asked for, but people can already stream PS5 games to their phones which they already own. Nobody's going to buy a separate product to do the same thing that a product they already own can do for free.

Hugo, 25 May 2023Absolute rubbish from sony. Don't understand the targe... morei've read every possible disccusion sites and apparently parents are excited about this. can't play coz of their kids or wife always watching TV.

It looks good and I like the idea but this would only be useful to me when travelling and away from home, at home I'll use my 75" TV 100% of the time. "Using WiFi", does this mean it has to be on the same WiFi Network or is this supporting full remote play? I'm asking myself this question more than anything else.

I though will be something like Asus Rog Ally or Valve Steam Deck ....not this Sony!!!Useless device and waste of money to buy something like this!
