Xiaomi 13 Ultra to cost €1,499 in Europe

25 May 2023
That nets you a 12/512GB model in either Black or Green.

My nxt phone is definitely 512GB+, I shoot bow at 12mp and my memory is almost full, raw takes a lot.

Best hw available for photography at different fov. X90proplus right behind, but that one not in EU...

AnonD-546724, 26 May 2023That's the suggested price but let's face it, no ... moreBut the Xiaomi 13 Ultra has interesting stuff: round corners, display, rear camera hardware for each lens, more natural processing on cameras connectivity, fast battery charging, case and charger in the box.
While the Galaxy S23 Ultra has: build quality, overclocked SD 8 Gen 2, software, S-Pen, 10x periscope telephoto, 200 MP mode, selfie camera, DeX and UWB, ultrasonic fingerprint scanner that doesn't blind you in the dark.
The Xiaomi being 100€ cheaper, Samsung trading program not being effective in my region, I could decide to buy the Xiaomi, but I dislike MIUI and Samsung's pros are more my cup of tea.

Doesn't Xiaomi have the philosophy of honest pricing where they never make more than 5% profit margin on any hardware product? What happended to that?

And about os, weather being bloated or not most of preloaded apps can be removed unlike miui. Where oneui is the best fluid and non buggy UI. Even stock ui can't compare. Where miui turned into the worst ui.

                        Have some shame

poophone, 26 May 2023Is the world going insane? why the f**k would anyone spend ... moreMe and Norwegian under me are probably making 10x your salary. For us, 1500 euro isn't much to think about. In my case my company will pay my phone, probably the same in his case.

The price is definitely a concern as paying for the phone will obviously send a message to Xiaomi that people are willing to pay these prices. However, it ultimately doesn't bother me if someone else (my company) is paying. That said, if it came down to me paying for this personally myself, even though I could easily afford it. I'd likely say no on principle.

I'd pay 1400 for an Xperia phone because it has features I like and they are clearly listening to customer feedback, still have 3.5mm jack, SD slot, front facing speakers etc. The UI is clean and there's no bloat or spyware either. The downside only really being the lack of fast charging.

Ultimately I don't care so much about "looks". I am not looking at the back of my phone lmao. I care that the screen is good and colors are accurate and the camera is extremely good. I use my phone for taking a lot of photos because I travel a lot. It's so much more convenient (and often better) than having a full-size camera.

Each person uses their phone for different things, but those who complain about camera bump or back of the phone etc. who are not putting it in a case and thinking more about the practicality and experience using it. I think they should check themselves for mental illness.

Marco M, 26 May 2023That all depends on where you live. Here in Norway we have ... moreBrands need to know their place. You can't walk into the game with a bunch of dogcr*p phones like OnePlus and then suddenly start charging 1000 euro for their garbage that doesn't even remotely perform for the cost. Also you're the one who needs to wake up.

OnePlus has many of the exact same stats as other flagship phones but their phones perform a lot worse. Worse in real-life testing, worse in benchmarks and ten times worse in battery life. Camera can't even stand up to a 500 euro budget Samsung or Xiaomi phone.

So tell me again Norwegian why I should just be looking at the specifications and not the brand? You are telling me that I'm not also paying for their software, warranty policy, post-processing and how many years of updates they get? Get out of here with that narrow-mindedness. A brand gives me an idea of their track record and whether they are failing at punching above their weight like OnePlus is constantly doing.

As for your 5 year warranty. Good for you. Any phone you buy there costs more than mine will here, plus you have the overall additional extra in ridiculously high taxes just for starters. So I'll take my 3 year carrier-backed warranty thanks and keep the low taxes and far less socialism.

NeverPayOver1000eur, 26 May 2023You can buy it from many resellers online who still give 1 ... moreThat all depends on where you live. Here in Norway we have 5 year warranty, so waiting for it to become available here would be beneficial.

The fact that you write about what a brand can charge based on their name, rather than the product(s) they offer, show you are too influenced by marketing. Time to wake up and start ignoring such crap. This isn't a fashion show, it's tech.

Xiaomi could up their marketing and bake in the added cost in their devices and therefore this 1499 phone would not include that IMX989 sensor, but the same lower tier as Samsung and others offer, or it would cost even more if keeping the IMX989.

I hate paying more than I have to for a product, just because the company spends millions promoting it.

The Xperia 1 V sits between the Xiaomi 13 and the Xiaomi 13 Pro. It is not a competitor to this 13 Ultra. That will be the job of the Sony Xperia Pro-II.

Might be expensive, but doesn't look like anything else with leather on the back. Whereas all smasung phone that have the same back, s23u look like a53 XD..

Anyway both Samsung and Xiaomi have bloated os, the Samsung one look so dated (android 9 quick setting panel) but it's okay for my grand parents, I guess..

I wanted to check the storage on my grand parents Samsung, i had to search the setting and type it has i could just find it on the main list. It's complete garbage in here..

Might be the same for Xiaomi ui

Is the world going insane? why the f**k would anyone spend that much money on a phone !? let alone a Xiaomi phone?
At the end of the day, it's still a freaking phone... it does not wash your clothes, cook your food, take care of you, or drive you somewhere, it does not bring you any real social status benefit (though some might think so). It's just a tool, for consuming fb, instagram and tiktok
all day long and benefit other businesses through the time you spend on them so that they can bombard you with ads and steal personal data...
I can understand 600-700E on a new phone which you will keep for about 4 years providing the manufacturer still delivers updates, but 1500E on a phone which will receive updates for about 2 years?

People are far too reckless with their money and encourage these greedy companies to go further and further with these obscene prices for "premium / flagship" phones.
Still can't understand why people are spending this much money on such a phone which does the same thing as a mid-ranger...

Kev, 25 May 2023Look at that price lmfao Xiaomi just made vacationing to... moreYou can buy it from many resellers online who still give 1 year warranty + Google Play services and you pay no VAT and get 3 day shipping anywhere in the EU. I've been on the fence about it since my Vivo X90 Pro+ shipped faulty to me, but now I am thinking either about getting another Vivo because it was incredible, or this but 500 cheaper from China. The Vivo also has band 20 support too.

I just want the camera, but for this price I'll just buy a real Sony Alpha and keep a 10T Pro or something as my phone. Xiaomi is mad thinking they can price phones as high as Samsung or Xperia in any timeline.

I think this is way too expensive... I really like the stats on the phone but MIUI is absolutely garbage and the apps on the phone still require opting out of spyware and data tracking on the global versions. I got the Xiaomi 10T Pro 2 years ago for 500 euros on release day as a work phone with a 108MP camera. How is this seriously worth 3x that price?

The fact that they still don't have a release date is crazy too.

You might as well buy it from China, it still comes to EU without any import tax (VAT) and it's literally 500 euros (33%) cheaper. Even if you don't get band 20 in the EU, who cares. This phone isn't worth 1500 euros.

Even the Xperia 1 V is only going to be 1399.

I'll likely wait for the official price and if it's remotely over 1299. I'll buy it from China or get the Xperia 1 V.
