like we expected any different, apple literally only just put in a 48mp sensor, it will be at least a few years before we see anything like a 1" sensor in an iPhone, we all know how they drip feed tech long after most other companies.
the updates are so incremental nowadays, especially on apple products, and that is decreasing year on year.
You can easily skip 3-4 generations and not miss a whole lot in reality.
It would not surprise me if the current frame is only marginally tweaked for example, and no major redesigns until the iPhone 20 given that it will be a major milestone, similar to the iPhone (10) X
I mean why do they feel the need to wait 4-5 years to add only a marginal upgrade on the telephoto from 3 to 6X, then no doubt in another 5 years they may go to 10X when the rest of the industry is on 15 or even 20X. milking the cash cow thats why

Apple are only going to give you a minimal upgrade. 3 nm fab can lead to 20 % efficiency upgrade. Then you have Type C. Rather than supplying a new cable supply Type C to lightening adapter (or charge) I really don't know why anyone purchases an iPhone or indeed if they regularly upgrade. I just don't care, all I know iPhone the way they are is not for me.
I like Apple in that they are a formidable competitor so bring competition to the cell phone market.
Expect you will hear this the best ever iPhone when launched

I went from S20 to S21. Big mistake. Upgrades are tiny.
With Smartwatches you should wait 5 years too. They can't offer more than what you have today.

Also, the display on 14 Pro Max is absolutely gorgeous (like the guys on arena said too), so why change it?
I mean, I know you haters want to see the wheel invented each year by Apple, but just look at Android manufacturers too, in last 2-3 years. Just increasing numbers on paper and changing design each and there.
I mean, this is where the smartphone industry is right now. You can't have ground breaking new things each year.
