The unfortunate truth, iPhone or not, is that consumers should expect diminishing returns on smart phones with respects to design refreshes or upgrades.
Even with inflation and supply chain issues, we, as consumers, allowed this to happen by rewarding lack of progress by supporting each new release.
What incentive does Apple, Samsung or any other manufacturer have to improve when we're still willing to pay more for less.

I... moreThere is a difference between 4 and 7 years (and because I‘m not a child like you I can see that Androids don’t need as many version upgrades to stay relevant but also security updates are much longer on iOS because they get up to 9 years while Android only 5 at most except for Fairphone they get security updates for longer. So yeah it‘s much more nuanced than you all try to make it seem with your „iPhone bad, Android good“ comments)
