Soon CPU clusters will be configured in 1+5+2 instead of 1+3+4. A new GPU architecture uses less bandwidth to deliver a higher performance.

    Those use X86 cpu and consume less power than today arm core.

    Cpu power consumption is just design, and many designer say there is no difference between Arm and X86 nowadays, one can use any architecture to achieve low power usage, they just need to design it from scratch for that purpose.

      I gave you Example of Steam deck you can set it to use 3W or 5w and still be able to play AAA games for hours.

      Same to Zen 4 plenty of power efficient soc, Normal one have TDP down of 9W, and Phoenix 2 Apu with Hybrid cores will go as low as 5W.

          All these don't matter to anyone except very, very few people who do constantly do benchmarks and play games on regular basis, usually at highest settings. 8 gen 2 is a great chip which is good for another 5 years for vast majority of people. Now that they moved to TSMC and abandoned the horrible Samsung, they should really stop releasing new chip every year and wait until a noticeable advancement is made. This would keep price down for phones. Every year new phones are released with minimal to no improvement yet costs more.

              Like that Cortex X3 inside 8 gen 2 use more than 4W just one core, you can Run whole steam deck soc at 3W or 5W power while one Mobile cou core use more power than whole PC Cpu/Apu.

They are not far behind Amd and Nvidia now.

                It's not magic you just have to Employ right people and pay them to make/optimize driver for your Gpu, but for Some reasons both Arm and Soc maker ignore Mali issues.

                  This year with Apple moving 3nm it means lot of capacity is freed in 4nm, we saw Dimensity 8200, sd 7+ gen 2, Dimension 7200 already in 4nm and they are not flagship Soc.

                          The main reason ARM not popular in notebook is windows game/software backwards compatibility.

                            Why do the improvements in GPU seem mostly dismal?
                            Also, not sure why laptop CPUs aren't getting much better with ARM processors, especially considering their ability for much better cooling and thus sustained performance.
                            Also it's terrible having only Snapdragon and Mediatek in the Android space. Samsung needs to seriously pull up it's socks. Until the S7, Exynos was pretty impressive.

                                    I wish this flagship SoC would be implemented in a mini-PC platform with all the I/O for multi-display, multiple HDDs/SSDs (RAID), lots of USB-(3 or 4) ports, proper active cooling, and runs Linux. I would happily run my Shinobi CCTV and Nextcloud 24/7 with this.
