Heck, even the newest Mediatek can be updated at least 1 version more than the brands can do thanks to the community, something that was not possible before.

At least that Motorola might have love and the community will allow to update it for at least 2 versions more.

This basically destroys any excuse Sony had for using the same SD695 again this year 🤡.

They literally just had to wait some weeks.

Just because you change your phone every few months doesn’t mean that people who use their phone in a more sustainable fashion won’t experience this. It‘s a property of the technology. Denying it only shows that you are not familiar with the matter.

Anonymous, 30 May 2023Decent quality AMOLED display is must in 2023.I was about to say the same. Why not do LCD for low end devices instead?

AT LAST Motorola used something the rest didn't.
SD6 Gen 1 at least looks more promising than reusing the 695 since it seems to be a 778G with weaker GPU

Finally. Motorola at it again with more W's. Mobile tech higher ups should read these comment sections for pointers.

Apart from the slow charging, which should be 30W minimum and only 1 android update. This seems pretty good, good enough processor that supports 4K recording, IPS LCD instead of amoled giving people more choice as amoled is everywhere now, micro SD, headphone jack, big battery, and a decent dual camera setup with the UW capable of macro shots.

If it's priced at no more than €279 this can do well

"Motorola is promising one major Android update and up to three years of security updates." - Planned software obsolescence. Even Xiaomeme does better than that. My Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G is running Android 13 with April Patch on MIUI which gets late software updates.
