Basically nothing phone 1 with updated processor
Company is following apple's footprint in copying and releasing same phone with different processor

Well, there was another rumoured design.
The nothing phone 2 would come with flat edges too, have a triple camera that is horizontal (like black shark 4 pro) and the LED light surrounding it serves as a flashlight.

Digdigfig, 05 Jun 2023I never said the LEDs are indispensable. I simply don'... morePersonally i don't like the LEDs, i understand that some people like them, everyone has different opinions, but making the phone bigger is a disappointment, in a market full of big phones it would be nice if the phone would've been compact, and about the price being affordable i don't have much faith in Nothing, they managed to overprice a phone with a snapdragon 778, all the other phones with the same processor were 200€ cheaper when the nothing phone 1 released, but still we have to see the price of the new one

unxpctd, 06 Jun 2023I don't understand who this phone is for. I truly want... moreChinese phones lack in software department and aftersales support. they have delayed updates, unstable software, non-optimized UI for basic features like swipe gestures or fitting English words in icons. most of them don't have after-sales presence for many years in a country (outside China). so, even if you buy a Chinese flagship, the experience is mostly not premium.it gets worse if you go for a Chinese midranger.
nothing phone gets the job done in everyday for average users. tech geeks and power users are minority. camera is iphone12 level good, UI is stable, snappy and perfectly optimized like an apple or samsung flagship. majority of smartphone users play 2D games and nothing has enough power to run them for upcoming years. it also promises a reliable aftersales support in western markets. the phone has a flagship class built quality and a distinctive look with a fraction of price.

Personally I wish they just dropped the rather pointless LEDs and reduced the price of the phone instead.
Like someone else said the price will make or break this phone. Nothing phone 1 was overpriced for the spec, especially as you went up the options where it was getting horribly overpriced.

What does it mean to say this sentence “but it will stick to the mid-range field instead of taking on flagships” isn’t it a Flagship Specificationed Phone?

The second model will give us the second connect point that will show where this company is going. No audio jack = tying to go up. Finger sensor on the side with OLED display of > than 1k Nits = I am unique, screw the crowd.

unxpctd, 06 Jun 2023I don't understand who this phone is for. I truly want... moreIt's an all-rounder. If I was looking for a phone I'd seriously consider this (depending on the price). Sure it's not great at a certain thing, but it seems good at everything. Yes, the lack of a telephoto lens or 3.5mm jack is felt, but other than that it's not really missing anything. This could still be one of the cheapest phones with wireless charging, I love the fact that it doesn't have useless 2/5mp macro/depth cameras just so they can brag about having a triple or more camera setup, the design looks really good imo.

unxpctd, 06 Jun 2023I don't understand who this phone is for. I truly want... moreAnyone who wants a decently priced upper-midrange phone with a near-stock Android skin that just "works"? Sort of like Pixels except less focus on cameras and more on better software stability and minimalism.
It's *supposed to be* generic and not fancy, it's not called "Nothing" without a reason.

unxpctd, 06 Jun 2023I don't understand who this phone is for. I truly want... moreIsn't that enough then? A phone that ticks boxes without being over the top with just the right gimmicks to be different enough? How are Glyphs more different than the Vivo changing back that you need a sun to sit at? I'd say it's basically Xiaomi 12T Pro with balanced everything and no ads.

I don't understand who this phone is for. I truly want it to do well but I don't know who they are targeting. Nerds? Ex-OnePlus lovers? Carl Pei fans!?
It can't be a flagship killer because it has a barebones skin and lacks hardware in general. It is no "Fan Edition" or Zenfone that's for sure.
It can't be a camera phone because it lacks cameras and has no special sensors like Vivo color spectral sensor. It's also too new to have years of R&D like Huawei or brute force things like LG did with super high bitrate video and 4K 60 HDR on the FRONT camera.
It can't be a "old nice things we used to have" like LG V60/Motorola modular/Sony $$$$ because it doesn't have headphone jack, SD slot, tons of accessories. Nothing Phone (1) was also only USB 2.0 speed!
You only get that godawful Android 12 interface with it, no way to get the old quick settings back like Samsung/ASUS or even an IOS interface clone like Oppo/Xiamoi.
So where does this phone sit? For people who wanted to buy a midrange phone but are scared of midrange processors? That's a niche that gets you bankrupt. People who want vanilla Android but hate Google and Motorola?
The only things I've heard is the optimization is great on it. It's smoother than Pixel and such. But who buys phones for that? Can you even make that your branding? That's why I say this is a nerd's phone!
