The only new feature on here is the facetime voicemail thing. literally everything else already exists on other devices. instead of JUST copying features & marketing them as the major improvements, how about they create features of their own, and market those as the major improvements and leave the copied features as the "oh and we did this too, moving on..."

I don't know, but from an open perspective these 'innovative' features are just taking away the joy of real, actual human communication. I mean "display live scrolling text of what the person calling is saying, so you can easily decide if it's worth talking to them" that sounds sad. Not hating on apple just in general.

Anonymous, 05 Jun 2023They really dropped the iPhone 8 and X. I'm baffled. S... moreI meant: run iOS 17 on iPhone 8, but disable the features that need the neural engine of A12 and later. I know the neural engine in A11 is so weak that its only real purpose is FaceID on iPhone X. They could have just disabled much of the new stuff really.

They really dropped the iPhone 8 and X. I'm baffled. Sure most of the new features probably require the Neural Engine of the A12 and later. But this has so little new features anyway that it should have been possible to run iOS 17 just for the continued app support. I already thought Google dropped the ball with Android 14, but at this point, the state of mobile technology is just laughable. I guess tech companies moved on to AI and VR technology. That's quite annoying to me at least.

          wow!

I see nothing really catching, it's nice that they added more customization tho. I just hope iOS 17 isn't going to be a mess like iOS 16.
