Android phone from 2015 with Android 5 (Lollipop) still can be used to open whatsapp in 2023.

The number of iPhone model from 2015 that has functional whatsapp is equal zero.

Digdigfig, 06 Jun 2023Apple supports its devices for the longest out of all phone... moreDifference between Android and ios updates

-When Apple stop updating phones soon they became obsolete and you can barely use them

-when Android stop updating you can still use them.

    Take Example popular Apps

    1. Facebook minimum Android 4.0 (ice cream sandwitch) or ios 13, so 2010 or 2011 android devices can run FB today thats more than 10 years gap, same iphones like Iphone 4 or 4s cant.

    2. Whatsapp minimum Android is 4.1 for iphone its ios 12

    3. Snapchat android 4.4 and ios 12

Old android phones s2, s3, s4 etc can be used today and people use them to do so many things, but look at old iphones you can just use them for call and sms majority of apps dont work. Most people ignore this when they discuss update policy.

A12 has an 8 core more powerful neural engine whereas A11 has 2 cores and is only good for FaceID and some basic AR applications.

Digdigfig, 06 Jun 2023Apple supports its devices for the longest out of all phone... moreMost apps require Android 7 or iOS 14. iPhones and Androids become useless at around the same time even though iPhones get OS updates for much longer.

People haven't figured out the iOS Updates yet?
It depends on which phone you got, and the processor it had.

                    So it's like this:
                    (2013/2014-2019) A7/A8
                    (2015/2016-2021) A9/A10
                    (2017/2018-2023) A11/A12
                    (2019/2020-2025) A13/A14
                    (2021/2022-2027) A15/A16

Example; So back in 2013 if you got the iPhone 5C you messed up, instead of getting the iPhone 5S. The former went from iOS 7 until iOS 10 in 2016 and dropped quickly, while the latter lasted until iOS 12 in 2019 (and many updates after that). The iPhone 6 and 6+ were released after the iPhone 5S but were roughly equal to the iPhone 5S in performance and got the same update treatment.

It also means that if you stuck with iPhones, in the early period you should have upgraded often, and in the later periods less often, and you should've been choosy with which platform you made an upgrade to.
Here's what makes sense to me:
                    iPhone 3G (2008), 3GS (2009), 4 (2010), 4S (2011), 5S (2013), 6S+ (2015), 8+ (2017), 11 Max (2019), 15 Max (2023), iPhone 18 Ultra (2026).

Here's what does NOT make sense:
                    iPhone 2G (2007), iPhone 5 (2012), iPhone 5C (2013), iPhone 6 (2014), iPhone 7+ (2016), iPhone X (2017), iPhone XS Pro (2018), iPhone 12 Pro (2020), iPhone 13 Pro (2021), iPhone 14 (2022), iPhone 16 (2024).

Euro, 06 Jun 2023iPhone 11 series are next on the chopping board next year. Nope, it's the XS series

A11 wins in some departments (single core tests, 3dmark etc) loses in others (multicore). 778G is a good chip, decent enough for today's tasks like i said being that it's almost a Snap 7 gen1. A11 would support iOS17 but of course Apple's policy...

6 years of update isn't/wasn't bad. I mean it would have been nice if the devices would get longer support but on the other hand how many First/release buyers (not second hand) are still using a six/seven year old iPhone? And for people who bought it second hand after 2 or 3 years it's still a good compromise: got a cheaper iPhone and still had longer SW support than most android Users. And last but not least your iPhone doesn't stop working if it doesn't get iOS 17...

But is funny how some Android users are making fun of Apple now, for not giving more than 6 years software updates.

Is like laughing on some guy in a Mercedes that had a flat tyre or something, but you are driving Dacia. Lol.

You Android boys are so funny. To make the conversation go in your direction you will say just about anything.

What makes us laugh the most is to see how some here complain, without having an iPhone ajsjhahaha and they have the nerve after companies like xismib put devices aside when they are only 3 years old hahahahahaha!! very few people have iPhones from x and below, at least in these states, and if so, they are people who leave their phone to a son or godson who doesn't give a damn about updates... That's just us nerds
