The only thing they can tempt the customer with is a lower price, and they don't even do that

Even big companies are to blame in the past who got seriously f up for example is reason why LG disappeared from the market and HTC berly keep it together.
So far, Motorola is making good changes and is slowly returning to the premium segment and maybe in a few years it will regain trust, apart from that there is only Samsung and Apple

Check out the used prices of the 12S Ultra on a well known online marketplace, selling for £600 - £650
Sure the price for the 13 Ultra is too high when you look at the depreciation compared to Apple & Samsung, but Apple & Samsung people aren't going to buy the 13 Ultra in the first place, it's a purchase you make with your heart not your head
Saying that, I had an iPhone 14 Pro and changed to a 13 Ultra I got brand new for £829 from that same marketplace :-)

It's a great phone, no doubt. The best? Arguable, but up there. However, it is still not Apple or even Samsung to command outrageous prices. It needs to have perfect hardware AND software, with 5 years of updates.
Maybe I would go as high as €750, but higher than that is way too much.
