My prescription glasses was $1000, that's without the frame.

If I was to speculate.. it means the lens may cause as much as the Vision Pro itself. I foresee 3000+

    The most expensive device with two hours battery life. Not even Apple logo could justify the purchase.

    Such comedy device.

    Also, another comedy device is Xiaomi 13 Ultra with 1500 Euro price.

It cost USD25 per pair with frame. Workmanship is expensive in developed countries. In many developing countries, earning less than $1 per hour is fine. Same goes for many items. E.g for gold jewelry, it's sold at 4x or more than gold spot price, but 1.5x or less in developing countries. But cost of living in developed countries is extremely cheap compared to developing countries when taking salary into account.

            Apple vision is just a very expensive toy huh.

            I'm going to wait for at least 2-3 generations to consider getting it and the price should be lowered.

              Yeah Apple is funny. And in next 2 years the price will be maybe 1200 or 1500 lenses included.

                Don't look at the price of glasses, look at the price of lenses. My polycarbonate lenses are around $100 with the anti-glare coating on them. So, in the US, the retail would be $300, if resold by a company. I don't like apple, but this doesn't seem crazy to me.

                  the battery only lasts two hours and you have to use a cable connected to the battery and the size of the battery is equal to an old smart phone

This VR crap doesn't costs more than 700$ to make for Apple, and since they love to have a lot of profit margin, it makes sense it goes up to 3500 per piece, accounting for the low number it will move.
                      Even HoloLens (which came out like a decade ago) were not this expensive and it actually delivered on a proper product.

                      Also, reminder that just 2 years ago, Apple was selling a 700$ device with 64 GB internal memory. 64 GB in fkin 2021!!!! There were also Macs being sold with just 128GB SSD just recently 🤡.

                      But let's all pretend that never happened bc "Apple is good" and "M1 is the best CPU", alright. And then you blame commenters here just for pointing out scams like this.

However, it certainly is a great solution. The idea of needing a cable to plug in to a host device being inconvenient is stupid. People have no idea the physics of how these things work. They want these glasses to be slimmer, lighter, have a processor, wireless screen sharing, and have a battery that lasts longer. That's not possible. These things are contradictory. Either way though, why criticize? So it needs a host device. Everyone carries a phone. It doesn't work with iPhone, oh well. I'm not inclined to feel bad for someone who purposefully spent more to buy a more limited product.

                                I was also thinking around $500. That’s how much you would pay for decent prescription glasses so it wouldn’t surprise me. Imagine the cost if you have different family members that all need different inserts!
