Chaos X 1982, 09 Jun 2023Sony Xperia.Yes, that's still only one other options. There are literally dozens or large modern flagship phones. There are two modern compact phones.

Bzuco, 09 Jun 2023I would have no problem with 200Mpix if it brings less nois... moreIt won't, because smaller pixels get less light. As for pixel binning, it means to combines the information captured by multiple pixels. But since pixels in 200mp sensors are too small, individually they perform poorly, so on average they're poor as well. It's much better to use one large pixel, which is the case of all the professional cameras. Yes, as7iii has quad Bayer sensor, but it's been shown to be inferior choice than a normal 12mp RGB sensor of same size.
The only reason these multi-Bayer sensors are used are:
1. Marketing, as people think more megapixels = better
2. promote 8k videos which are ~33mp. These 8k videos of multi-Bayer 12mp sensors are fake chromatically, because colour resolution of these sensors are only 12mp. They have to now rely on algorithms to approximate 33mp of colour information, how poor!
3. cheaper quality control. If you have only 1 pixel for 1, if that pixel is dead then it's over. If there are 4 pixels for 1, if one is faulty, there's 3. If there are 16 pixels for 1, then its even easier, as there are 15 more in case 1 is faulty. It's cheaper to manufacture many smaller, inferior pixels with poor QC than few good, large ones with proper QC. So OEMs can save cost with more lenient quality control. However, we customers get inferior product as a result.

Loll, 09 Jun 2023Flip version when ???I think we have to wait for ZenFone 11 for a new Flip. Let's go to their ZenTalk forum to make tons of noise. Flip + Delicated SD Slot.
It'd be good if in 11 we can get a Dimensity 9300 with 2:1 Aspect Ratio 6" phone with 2/3" 52Mpx Exmor T sensor and 19mm OIS lens, together with the Flash on a Flip Module. And 1/4" sensor with a 20-72mm Periscopic OIS Zoom that's not flip.

CompactLover, 09 Jun 2023Asus is an overhype brand which you pay premium price for e... moreOkay but like in that case are we not going to talk about Samsung selling the S23 with a 1/1.56" sensor for the same price as a Vivo X90 Pro with a 1" sensor? I'm discounting it, I just think we got more severely overpriced products to diss on before Asus. Maybe Asus is overpriced, I've never really had an Asus phone to know if it delivers 700$ of performance. However, I know Samsung's base model S phones are far more overpriced.

Not to mention pixel binning past 4:1 has severely diminishing returns on detail. That's why professional camera that are high resolution never use pixel binning.

I'll never buy an ASUS made smartphone again after the ZenFone Max Po M1 scam. ASUS CEO in India (AFAIR) promised a stable Android 10 update but they only delivered some buggy "developer version".

Or are you just trying to bash the Asus Zenfone opinion section?
