if a social media company needs someone's id to access their previously deactivated account, that company is questionable in terms of not infringing customer's privacy/data
Meta did that. So, whatever come out of the founder's mouth, not much can be trusted
on the other hand, apple is reputed to be expensive.
so, i won't touch that unless it's price is down by 70% or i received it for free

Funny to see iPhonist zombies praising about how Apple protects your privacy. THEY SHOULD NOT BE TRUSTED. That's because Apple is a for-profit corporation that is still hosting Google and Meta on their own app store and they also colaborate with the CCP to collect your data.
If you care about your privacy, go buy a flip phone or use a Linux device, go install your own custom rom, do that instead of relying on shady 3rd party companies

He should reflect and share he's thoughts on all the law suits and privacy disasters he and his garbage company are involved in.

Anonymous , 10 Jun 2023He's right thoNo he’s not. His vision even after forcing it onto employees and changing their official titles to sell it failed ! Miserably and highly expensive to the tune of over $60 Billion dollars firing employees for his failed vision.
Apples Vision Pro mostly marketed as home entertainment this first generation indeed is done as such because they can sell it. Boost has sold an AR for daily outside use successfully yet!

Zuckerberg: "difference in the values and the vision"
Meta wants to steal all your data, keep you in a walled Meta garden and make you a VR-slave.
How is that different from Apple, or Microsoft, or Google, all of which basically want to achieve the same.
Same values, same goals, same tactics.
Nobody is building an open, healthy, privacy/security first platform.

Apple's Vision is a funny concept like the car concepts we see all the time. The thing is it will never become the next iPhone because it can't be in everyday use. It is a very niche product that will probably to some extent rival home entertainment systems. It will probably become more suitable for some than the bulky 120" TV sets and 30+1 soundbar systems. It will probably be employed in the military like flying UAVs and UGVs. This is still huge of course, but it is no mainstream product simply because human philosophy and the way we operate our daily lives is absolutely incompatible with it. Good luck driving to work with it or cooking food, or even maintaining a conversation. Imagine that eye tracking displaying to if you are fully "immersed" showing that you are phasing out mid conversation pretty much like having an epileptic seizure.

Both companies have no idea what they doing with VR and both companies sucks in VR. One makes cheap shit, another made expensive VR shit, both has same problems, both constrained by technology limitations and both not ready to deliver revolutionary VR experience, you need no wires and need to achieve 1 day of battery life at least. Without that no one will take VR seriously.

Zuckerberg should submit himself to Turing test, with a vow to lock himself up and deactivate himself if it is proven that he’s not human.

Doru, 09 Jun 2023I love how Zuck became more and more irrelevant in recent y... moreSpaceX is literally the only company to be in a position to launch a mega rocket in the near future. Tesla too , is miles ahead per $ asked, from the rest. The rest are only now reaching similar range/horsepower of model 3, but at much greater cost...
I agree about the rest of his ventures, he is well into his head and thinks he is good at everything. His main 2 companies though? They are the respective leaders in their field. I mean Tesla is growing by leaps and bounds, his best day (as a business leader) is ahead of him.
As much as you hate him as a person, he is not becoming irrelevant at all in his main 2 ventures and the rest (of those he does) don't matter anyway. Nobody should cry if Twitter goes down, it always promoted unsophisticated views (with Musk's first and foremost)... as far as I am concerned he does a great job with destroying Twitter, we all have to gain from that.

He is right. Except EyeSight (displaying your eyes on front) there is nothing new in Vision Pro. There are allready product that do what AVP, but not as a one product:
1. Pimax - high resolution display and extreme FOV (we still don't know what FOV is with AVP, probably worse than Pimax, the reason Pimax looks "bad")
2. UI navigation with eyes - PlayStation VR 2 !
3. Hand tracking and navigation without controller - Quest 2, Quest Pro, ...
4. AR - Hololens, Quest Pro (albeit video resolution is bad), Quest 3, ...
5. Standalone - Quest, Pico, ...
AVP just gives it all in one product. Nothing revolutionary, high price.
Overall very nice device.

Zuck is feeling threatened by Apple's marketing circus? It's a popcorn-grabbing situation, hope they duke it out somehow because this is nothing short of hilarious.
