Funny how some commenters didn’t even read the article and immediately went “of course, EU bad lol”. Did you miss the part where the US Department of Justice is doing the same thing?

Monopolies are a global problem and these companies keep getting away with questionable tactics with a slap on the wrist. It’s time to take real action against these giants’ shady business practices.

They should split up Youtube too from Google and also Whatsapp and Instagram from Meta(Facebook).

Well Google made those tools and well, people like them.

OEMs or users who don't like it, don't have to use them. OEM's can go and make their own platforms. If next best thing comes after Google, people will switch (remember Symbian?).

So this is more a matter of "our American governments refuse to act, so foreign governments are going to have to clean up this mess for them".

                Finally something.

Seriously. With Google’s dominance over search engine (Google), browser (Chrome), email (Gmail), smartphone OS (Android), etc, it wonders me why the EU had not done anything towards Google. Remember, this is the EU who went gangsta on Microsoft for simply bundling IE with Windows, yet they’re giving Google a free pass for forcing OEMs to pre install Chrome as part of GMS certification.

Break up that data-harvesting scroogle for good.

and also indirectly make eu dont have their own social media and search engine.
