And people can choose their parts either wired or wireless. This will also solve any law issues in EU because it will be customers choice if they choose wired or wireless charging or removable / non-removable batteries etc.

You know what doesn't ever wear out though? A cable you plug into the wall that draws power when needed instead of holding onto it. 🙄 Robo vacuums convenient but not good in the long run.
And lol. Codecs as in ldac, aptx, AAC, sbc. Bluetooth never designed for tons of data transfer or even low latency. That's why the platform compresses music and you don't even get a full copy.

All I was saying is that the ... more"But the elitist attitude here as if their lives are ruined by wireless."
Seems like you could read, but not so much comprehension, because the reverse is the truth for what you claimed. Phones currently have wired and wireless solutions, but people like you can't wait for the wired one to go away, supporting every move to eradicate them. I mean, this article is about going portless, so which group are behaving like their lives are ruined by wires? If they aren't, why actively speak against it? Only time I know that people speak against wireless are times it takes away the option of wires from them.
Thinking shouldn't be as difficult as y'all make it seem.

I never spoke in support of wireless extinction or removing such features on phones. You're the one who wants a the most reliable, efficient, affordable, accessible and effective solution to be put down. Aren't you smart?

This comment section is a war zone.
I have a solution to all of this- make the phones bigger. Include wireless, wired charging, audio port, charging port and even a HDMI port if ya want.
Also, people who are mad that wireless charging is slow. You're right but it also protects the battery. High input of I, greater heating=decreased battery life. But, there should be a toggle to turn on/off fast wireless charging (like sammy)

If wireless charger will charge at least 50w then do it remove ports
But this will have huge impact for many businesses who manufacturing device with usb-c connection ..
The headphone 🎧 manuf will have problem so this might not happen soon

We needs ports, and SD card. Especially USB-C.
The thing is, removing 3.5mm is a rather bad idea, but at least we can still use USB-C earphones, or USB-C to 3.5mm Adapters, which if we spend some extra money to get a good one will produce superior audio, cos they can use a far superior DAC than the one OEM can stuff into the phone.
Of cos, that means for casual video shooters, we need to get the Type-C or Lighting version Rode's Videomic Me. And similar Mics. That is a annoying but still workable inconvenience.
No SD card : The alternatives are cloud and OTG, which are both current crippled and not good enough to replace SD cards. Cloud required internet connection and is slower and expensive. OTG drives are usually bulky and the Camera App cannot directly save to OTG drive. This is silly.
No USB-C: This is pure idiocy because USB-C beside charging can also be use to debug the phone, as well as use a USB-C to 3.5mm DAC for people not using Wireless Earphones, as well as OTG Drives and direct phone connection. Just to name a few.
Finally, the current "Wireless Charging" is a lie. There's still a wire it's just now connected to a bulky wireless charger instead of directly plugging into the phone. And it requires extra space inside the phone that can be used for more important things, like SD card slots and 3.5mm ports.
Comparing Wireless charging to Wireless Earphones is also nonsense because wireless earphone do not required a bulky dock to use. Unless your wireless charging can be done via Wifi or BT, it is far less efficient, less convenience and far less useful than just plugging in the USB-C cable. Come back to me about wireless charging when it can be done around 3~5m away from the charger, and is at least 75% as efficient as wired charging. If it can be done via Wifi or BT even better. If Wifi 7 or BT 6 allows for charging, that's true wireless charging. And make sure the radio waves used to charge the phone doesn't toast the users.
As of now, having to use a magnetic charger, is not True Wireless Charging, it's indirect Wired Charging, and can also be called Brainless Charging.

Malcolm, 20 Jun 2023I never cease to be astounded by the number of people who d... moreExactly.
In the logical, intelligent world, there's just no visible benefit of removing 3.5mm jacks and microSD card slot, because users can still choose to use BT headphones and leave card slot empty, even going by their "I don't use it" argument. Who uses 100% features anyways?
Actually, most of them are low intellect individuals who're brainwashed by what they see. And propaganda is all they see.
For example, can GSMA dare to rename this article as, "Are portless phones a convenience threat?", that alone will change minds of thousands. But sadly, its not to be.
Years later, they'll claim users asked them to do this.
