I agree with GSMArena because I have used Galaxy S2 and S3 which are large screen phones. Both of my phone screens has been cracked by my 5 years old son most of people out there having same problems so we need a small screen smartphones packed with features for an example nokia lumia screen with Galaxy S4 features. KEEP IT UP GSMARENA YOU HAVE MY FULL SUPPORT

Trying to fight the future? You're going to lose. Ironically, you will also be holding a large-sized phone soon enough. Just welcome what's inevitable :)

That is one thing I like with Nokia, because even if they sell an inferior smartphone (e.g. Lumia 720) it is still has the same raw power as that of 920. Yes these devices are not Android but the idea of making a smaller yet powerful device is one that can really help end users choose through a wide variety of options. I love technology and it makes me feel sad that not all OEMs have the mission of providing a bang-for-buck device because today's technology is something people must not be deprived of. For android 4.2 quad core is really an over-kill, 5" 1080p is a monster-kill we don't have a built-in magnifying eyes to actually notice the difference between 720p and 1080p Iphone 5's retina screen, s3 AMOLED screen and Nokia PuremotionHD+ screen are really enough to enjoy graphics using human's visual capacity.

It doesn't matter at all how good and powerful the phone is
or what kind of specs it has if the battery drains so fast.

Samsung and LG have no intension of making small form factor smartphone right now, I hope Sony or htc will. With sufficient battery life and min of 32g storage. As of now I'm planning to get htc one or xperia zl. I know htc One is longer than sgs4 but b'coz of with fm radio. The only doubt about xperia zl is battery performance.

Specs are half bitten cold when support from manufacturers are not always available. Let the petition include Nexus-like support on updates. Let say 2-3 MAJOR updates on a 2 year life span. What do you think?

I think any petition should be to stop people being paid by manufacturers to write negative reviews on a competitor's product, such as being reported world wide with Samsung allegedly paying students to write negative reports, such as blogs etc, about the HTC One device compared to the SIV. Personally it does not affect me because my choice is a business mobile, such as Blackberry, and not a a gaming or Facebook lifestyle device. But the point is clear. Just look at negative reporting at any review site and most of it is the stuff of children attempting to think they actually know something. Yep, I prefer a smaller screen, 4-4.3 is big enough instead of a brick that looks silly.

I really want this to happen.Samsung, listen. Take the S2, slap a 720p display in that 4.3 inch form-factor,fit a bigger battery and a Exynos Quad (or the Snapdragon 600),2500 mAh battery and all for 350-400 bucks. Bam. There. Solved.

Some years ago, 4'' were fine on a high-end smartphone for just about everything it had to do with interacting with it. For some of us, it still is fine.
We simply ask that people in general and specially OEMs respect that.
I have a Nokia N9. It has a 3.9'' screen and it's a tad smaller than an iPhone 5... I do just about everything anyone can do on their Android with a bigger screen and I have no quarrels with that. I also want to keep it that way on an Android phone, simply because I'll need to upgrade eventually.
I'm fine with people who want bigger phones (which usually means bigger screens). However I think that those people should also be fine with me (and others) wanting more compact phones. Some of us still like holding and using our phones comfortably in one had

I'm a gnote 2 user but, getting bigger is feeling loathful. I think the perfect size of high end phone is sgs 2 international version. .. just sayin'!

my personal taste is 4.3-5 inch.
bigger than 5 inch is nice to use but harder to hold in hand for long period.
4 inch and lower screen is nice to use if you rarely surf website, emailing and reading..

Ok, we get it! We understand that you people like humongous screens, but would you mind respecting the people who DON'T? Jesus Christ, it even looks like the site was overrun with 11 year olds.

why do you need a pocketable size smartphone but packed with flagship (high end) features???
The best viewable display is 4.7" to 5".
Anything smaller than this range is less pleasant for viewing espcially for old people.
If you still insist on smaller screen, then get iPhone 5 because it always has 4" display.

Your petition is not asking for a smaller size. You're asking for flagship features on a smaller screen. I remember Sony doing this 2 years ago: the Xperia Ray was the Xperia Arc in a smaller package. It had a market in Japan but how popular was it outside? What I'm saying is, when we blame the OEMs, we've really only got ourselves to blame.
From a size standpoint, I don't think you're asking for small enough. I'd like to tell you about the actual market segment that's been sacrificed when we move towards larger phones.
The true potential of smartphones lies in replacing/obliterating other electronic gadgets. As an example, just on the music side, we deserve a phone with 3.5 or 3.2-inch screen, or even smaller, with a focus on light weight. Can we make a smartphone @ under 90 grams & still maintain 3.2-inch? Noone has done that yet. Very carefully thought-out and curated features and a proper amp.
There are myriad ways to improve usability and aesthetics on a smaller display (The first rule of which is NOT following Halo!). However both the software people and us users have been complacent and ignorant about these real improvements that matter. Instead we debate endlessly about superficial things like size. It's time to look at why so many apps are so crude and inefficient in their interface, and then change the interface at every update without user input or consent.

sorry... small screens are bad... they do not need power... what will you do with them?? browse?? you would have to magnify every damn line to read... videos?? i would rather just not watch them rather than watch them on the small screen... 4.3 should be the smallest screen for a smartphone and that too for mid-fi phones... and gaming again is too bad for small screens as you can hardly see... bigger the better... if it is such a problem then buy the mid ranged iphones with tiny crapy cold colored screens
