xperia SP in my opinion is the best compact smartphone in the market. the only bad thing is the 1 GB ram.

Sorry guys, I like 4.5-5' screens. My wife is OK with the iPhone 5, but she would not mind a 4.5" phone.

I think Galaxy S4 is already compact/thin/light enough for comfortable use considering the 5-inch screen.

Regardless of the design, I guess that's a step in the right direction for flag-ship making.

Better in every aspect, bigger screen AND smaller/lighter than its predecessor.

I support your campaign gsmarena team. I would also like small screen smartphones with top of the line powerful hardware. Also the mid range smartphones should be proper focused on and every manufacturer should have a good portfolio of these devices.

I like 4.5-5 inch screen on a phone because smaller screen makes the text too small, or take too much space when enlarged to readable size!

Hats off GSMArena Team! Thank you for standing out of the crowd and bringing out our expaction with such a great move. If any Android Manufacturers out there really care to satisfy their own customers expectation in a mobile phone, they will design a compact smartphone with high end specs. Even if they don't
acknowledge our petitions, please don't worry, as this itself is a victory for you GSMArena Team, to have brought in so many true GSMArena fans together to
support this good cause. Hello Android Manufacturers - A mobile phone is no more mobile when you just can't handle it with one hand, with huge body and mega sized
displays. We have laptops and tablets for that purposes.

Raito, 19 Apr 2013i'd petition for a choice of a higher-capacity and removabl... moreWell, I'd petition 4 a choice of higher internal storage n also better n longer lasting (not necessarily higher capacity/bulkier batteries). This is 2013 n it's really pathetic that most phones don't offer anythng beyond 32 GB of internal storage n even current gen SD cards max out at 64 GB! We're into the era of 4K and soon 8K content n with ever increasing size of digital libraries n media, such storage capacities seem woefully small (if our PCs can have TB level storage, y should our phones wich v use a lot more b lagging wth paltry amnt. of storage?). I think the companies need 2 spend more research n effort in these areas (storage, batteries n other aspects) than jst bigger, bigger screens!

Another thing I would LOVE 2 see in Android is better headsets with multimedia controls like even the NOkia bricks had ages ago n even the Iphone has now! The current Android headsets r pathetic n don't do justice 2 the high end handsets! It's time Google provided multimedia headsets n put protocols in place 4 their implementation (don't think it's too hard, NOkia's been doin it since the Stone Age)! Amazing how Android still lacks soo many basic features! However, all we're getting each year is bigger n higher resolution screens wich obviously hog more juice! The only thing the companies seem 2 b bothered abt is PPI n diagonal length! It'd obviously be IDEAL if the companies would offer users the choice of customizing the various aspects n specs of their smartphones! (Heard rumors that the upcoming Motorola X phones might offer some level of customization, but, I'm not sure how many features would be customizable, if any at all)

LOL, The petition should be to make OS lighter rather than to put burden on hardware, and i dont believe that's impossible to do if ios and wp can, why not android

i'd petition for a choice of a higher-capacity and removable battery

anything less than 4.5" display is already too small imo for a high-end smartphone. i'm not so sure why you need high-end specs over a small phone when the current midrange smartphones and iPhone (if you want premium) is enough to meet the needs of those who wanted something more compact. do you really need a lot of computing power over such a small display? what apps will you be using that would require such thing regardless of display size?

You're a pioneer! I've already signed n posted the link on my FB n also have had many friends sign it, who would love more compact flagship handsets! As others have pointed out, if you want this campaign 2 go viral, best post this on your YouTube, FB, Twitter n other social media channels/accounts n you can get millions of signatures soon cos there really are millions out there who would love 2 have more compact flagship phones! I really hope this makes the companies stop n listen, as this absurd obsession wth bigger devices has really gotten out of hand! Not only that, this could open up new markets 4 the companies as such devices would be more popular with women n other groups! Un4tunately, the companies seem 2 be very 1 track minded at present n bigger is better seems 2 b the only formula they know!

Excellent petition and something that I had in mind myself for a long time now. To speed up the process I suggest you guys ask other tech sites to follow this story, engadget, gizmodo, pocketlint, etc. Also email news guys, like CNN and BBC, as they too had recent articles on big smartphones but did nothing about it.
