It's not like the NP1 was reasonably priced for what it offered. So, of course the upcoming NP2 would be the same.

Thought it was going to be better pricing for older Gen hardware,,,we currently have snapdragon 8 gen 2, other phones coming later this year will snapdragon 8 gen 3 and Nothing phone2 will snapdragon 8 gen 1.....so by the end of this year it will two generations behind. Was planning to pick this up , but at this price will give it a hard pass.

6a is like 350 euro and still expensive cause it's specs are just trash. Performance and camera is good but rest is just trash as 60hz screen and phone size for 6.1 inch screen is way bigger then S22 or iphone 14 while pixel 7 dont have much better performance over the 6 series

Also Nothing phone have not yet proven on it's updates promise as we still need to wait and see. On the other hand Samsung is known and trusted on updates delivery for long period of time.
And that build quality is just placebo effect. Higher price give you the feel of more quality product.
I am the type who is not willing to spend 200-400 euro more just cause it has more clean OS as it's just the software that all Android phones have so makes no sense to spend more and it's not few bucks more as it's a half the phone price more just for the OS and in the end the brands that give stock android are just lazy and not unique as there own.
I would think skinned android would make more sense to be more expensive as the brand needs a development team who is constantly working on there unique skin and make new features on there phones while stock android dont require the expense of software team to be large

Lets compare the galaxy s9 and s23 for example, not with the s23 ultra.
So in reality whether amount of money you pay for a phone its still gonna be better that a 2018 phone that costed the price.

With those specs I wouldn't pay more than 450 euros. There are already alternatives way cheaper in the midrange as F5, 6a,7 or 7a. If true it will be DOA.

Everyone is salty about the price, and dont get me wrong it is high but I would much prefer a well built near flagship phone with near stock android and good software support over a full blown flagship which is almost twice the price or a mid ranger with good specs but worse build/software if I could afford it. So IMO this is again the best phone in its segment as a package but not excelling at anything. Carl seems to like these middle child phones.

It's totally same like it was with OnePlus. First phone was cheap flagship killer and then with each new model the price went up to the level of all flagships so i would say Xiaomi is the one that takes tips from them.
But still i would say the price have not gone up a lot in Xiaomi. with 5 years only something 100-150 euro. Well from there flagship as 600 euro to something 900 is indeed but with all the rest of the series not so much. Poco also come as F1 was 300 euro and now F5 is around 400 euro. Well i got my F5 for 410 that was like 2 days deal and then went back on 440 euro
