Close your eyes and imagine something like Sony Z Ultra with 22mm thickness cam bump.
That is what you are asking here.

My S23 is pretty good, I hope to see big improvement for S24, otherwise not worth upgrading 💁🏻

acebluedolphin, 24 Jun 2023Based on the available information, it appears that the upc... morehuawei was the only one pushing samsung further, with it out of sight samsung has no reason to make big upgraded.
the only solution is for people to stop buying samsung phones but since this isn't going to happen, samsung will continue take their time and add the same upgrades they used to add in 1 year, in 3-4 years now.

Darth Caesium, 24 Jun 2023I'd personally like this: •Keep the stylus •Increa... morewe will never get 1 inch sensors on 3 cameras on a smartphone, not enough physical space and seeing how chill samsung plays it with huawei out of the game, expect maybe in 2026-2027 1 inch main sensor from samsung, people are still falling for 200mp gimmick so no reason for them

                200MP? 😁

OhNom, 24 Jun 2023Did you see Sony Pro-II? And that's only with 2 1"... moreYes, I did see the renders actually. If more companies that make "ultimate" phones with as good specs as possible actually treated their products seriously, then they'd have something that is quite similar to that upcoming phone.

You have extreme binning, but you also have lossless zoom by cropping. Something you just can't do with 20Mpix or even 50Mpix sensor. I mean, you can crop, but a little. 200 Mpix has a purpose too, especially since you do have control over it. If it was just 200 Mpix that always bins, then it would be a gimmick.

Same phones, new chip, +100$ while likely costing similar to make.

fayy, 24 Jun 2023Ehh tbh iPhone 14 Plus isn't really a good example sin... moreThat's bcs the price gap is too close between the 14 Plus and 14 Pro. I mean, with an extra $100, you'll get much better cameras, faster and more efficient chipset and better display. The S23+ has at least the same chipset, display technology, UW camera and build quality.

Anonymous, 24 Jun 2023LMAO !!! You want 3 sensors of 1" ? 1" insid... moreYes. I'm tired of these really small and inferior sensors used for the non-wide sensors. If it increases complexity or cost, then so be it. The Samsung Ultra is really not an Ultra device for example like in the way the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is.

                                1" inside periscope? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Type 1.0 (aka 1") has almost 13mm height, this is just the layer with pixels and transistors. It does not count the sensor bezels.

The improvement in resulting picture quality proves that sensor size is not something we should think about. Bring on the 400 mp sensors, Samsung!
