Weekly poll results: the Asus Zenfone 10 gets a lot of love, but it could be better

09 July 2023
Just adding an extra OS update would be a big step forward - the hardware package is (mostly) great, but it is too pricey to age out of OS updates so fast.

Unless you are uploading files from DSLR camera, you don't need it. And even then, you can usually use a cable for that.

My real concern is usability, especially when it comes to dual SIM usage. OnePlus was great in this regard up until OxygenOS 11. But since then, using the phone feels like a chore. Let's hope Asus have built a better experience.

Besides the lack of Telephota camera, this phone's major problem is lack of SD cards slots. This is the number one complain from old ZenFone users since ZF8, and they haven't fix it after 3 models.

You can't game while placing it on top of a charger. You can play games when the USB is plugged in. I can easily find a 2~3m long USB cable, and most cable are around 1m long.

In case of 6 with only 3GB of ram for tasks you can forget heavy gaming. With 5GB of ram some heavy games will run smoothly some bit less but still no major issue.

I feel Asus should give the gaming line wireless charging also in this iteration and that is where my money would go. I would love a phone that can take long arduous sessions of multitasking, not even gaming, android auto, youtube music, youtube, uber and lyft (driver apps) and whatever else.

OS upgrades add more features to their smartphones, while security patches enhance security on our smartphones, even though the impact will not be seen in everyday life.

Zf9, better be naked, awful aftermarket accessories.
Zf10, better be the same, that it can share the same awful aftermarket accessories.

I found myself running naked better than running with a heavy-duty devilcase for zf9 and a extremely smoothly glass protector but less edge on the screen.

                            Get your facts right.
Running a stockandroid phone for example Motorola Edge 40 Pro and equally same S23 makes huge difference. In motorola only minimum apps running on backround compared to 50+ more apps with samsung device.
In case of Motorola you get a lot of free ram to handle any task with easy in case of samsung you wont get much ram to run any task with ease.
After 3 years of use with all updates available properly updated Motorola still runs like brand new fresh device compared to Samsung which is 50% slower to what it was as a brand new phone.
But i like your funny oh comment.

I'd love to get S23 if it comes with Stock Android interface. But as long as it's not, I will stick with my Zenfone with the close-to-Stock Android interface even though it has "less OS upgrades". Base/Mini iPhone series is also good if I want something from iPhone, but I'm not sure about the battery life tho. I've tried iPhone 13 for a month and I charge more frequent than I usually charge my 5000mAh Android phone.
