Feem, 11 Jul 2023It starts at $599 USD here in the US.
I can get an unopene... moreNo it doesn't lol, on the official Samsung USA webstore the Samsung Galaxy S23 is $799.99 for only the 128GB Storage variant. And the Samsung Galaxy S23 256GB Storage variant is $859.99.
Sounds like your dubious $650 Samsung Galaxy S23 price is from a unknown shop or seller! More storage in the Nothing Phone 2, probably better overall camera performance. Better software and without the massive bloatware Samsung pre-install!
The only thing noticeably better on the base Samsung Galaxy S23 is a newer processor.

Instead of Nothing Phone 2 256GB I can buy Oneplus 11 256GB, for 30 eur more S23+ 256GB, for another 40 eur more iPhone 14 Plus 128GB. Thats 3 better phones for the same or little more money than Nothing Phone 2.

Anders, 11 Jul 2023No 1440p display
No headphone jack
No telephoto camera
N... moreLiterally the only phone since the last 3 years that can satisfy ALL of your requirement is the Sony Xperia 1 Series. Oh wait, charger not included, so your requirements is literally not satisfiable lol.

And they cost double this.
Are you using an Xperia 1 right now? Or are you even think about buying it for that price? No I don't think so.

rosesarerosie, 11 Jul 2023Why would anyone buy this over a OnePlus 11 or S23 ?Because of a very expensive and useless curved screen compared to a flat screen ths nothing have.
Flat screen is cheaper to repair, much easier to handle and hold and any screen protector works very well.
Curved screens are exactly opposite. Even very old Samsung S6 edge from 2015 new screen plus repair is 300-400 eur. No thanks.

Anders, 11 Jul 2023No 1440p display
No headphone jack
No telephoto camera
N... moreMan like it matters.
No 1440p display the 1080p is good enough
No headphone jack not needed use USB C adapter or wireless ones. Garbage jack from ancient times not interests anyone these days only old buzzards who can understand new era and new technology gave pass to old era and old now mostly useless agrbage tech and feature.
No telephoto camera cameras it have are good enough. SE2022 havent had any telephoto either and noone complained.
No IP68 another useless gimick where no company and brand is willing to give you water damage warranty included in device warranty. Buy a waterproof case for 2 euros and you get better results.
No charger this is a dealbreaker even for me. But many should be laying in your house somewhere waiting to be used and if no you can buy new one from as low as one euro.
No microSD like anyone with 512GB storage needs SD slot you funny.

Anonymous, 11 Jul 20233x is great on paper but does wery little and you can get t... moreSo then what about a 5× telephoto lens? Also, I find that the IP68 rating has really helped me before, and I'm someone who is extra careful with their phone to prevent any damage to it. Once, my old phone, which has such a rating, fell into a large puddle when I was getting out of my car on a particularly rainy day, and it got extremely wet. The thing didn't die though thanks to this, and since then I have thought that an IP68 rating really needs to be mandatory on all electronics beyond a certain price tag.
Hell, if someone made an IP68-rated laptop that didn't compromise on anything (extra thickness is a good trade-off though if it's required), then I would totally get it. The AMD version of the Framework 16 Laptop is the laptop I'm patiently waiting for, and I wish that had an IP68 rating. I get that modular stuff is extra difficult to waterproof, but it's not impossible.

What a disappointment.
They repeat the same mistakes with previous Oneplus, price hiking like crazy while not being as popular as Oneplus back in the day.

If they made another device with 6.1" screen and similar specs, I would've considered buying it.
For people that don't mind or want a larger screen, the offering is hitting the pricing limits for device and brand of this caliber. It should be at least €100 less to be attractive to a wider audience.

It starts at $599 USD here in the US.
I can get an unopened/new Galaxy S23 for around $650-ish. About 50 bucks more on average.
The S23 has a better SOC (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2). Telephoto. Probably better software. A peace of mind, at least.
What on earth was Carl Pei and the entire Nothing team thinking charging pretty close to that amount for last year’s Snapdragon 8+ gen 1… the glyphs don’t mean much if the pricing is that close to the S23 lmaoo
