LOl at the apple hater comments. Hilarious. You guys challenge apple, but lets say apple does make something that you apple haters hate, in the end you guys still won't buy apple anyways. Thank god they don't give in to what apple haters complain about.

I buy apple products but i fail to see the value in spending this vast amount? The products are great but i'm sure that you can easily have the sameresult spending less? For that amount of research i'd be expecting some eliments of Star Trek gadgetry in there!!

I hope apple user that money to research and innovate on their own.. Rather than investing it to do research on other phones to find a way to sue them in the court.. !

You don't need $500 millions spent in R&D for thing like iPod, iPhone, iPad, Mac.
Instead just pay $5 millions to china OEM & ODM, they will do everything for you!

AnonD-77892, 25 Apr 2013sadly... we all know that apple product uses samsung pro... moreWell said,gos to show how much Apple and Samsung really rely on each other..I currently use a Galaxy Nexus and changed the LCD on a buddies iphone5 and was truly impressed by the engineering and tolerances..Felt like i was working on a swiss watch..Yes Samsung parts are in it but hey that's business..Who cares..When i dropped/changed the LCD on my Galaxy Nexus it felt like a lego but it doesn't matter because pure vanilla android is where its at for me..Id like to see a 4.3 inch iphone and completely revamped Ios with Android capability and i might reconsider..

So based on the massive amounts that Apple are putting into this R&D does this mean we will se an innovation? Are Apple using this money to look upon the previous models and OS to improve, or are they going out into the big wide world of real people and asking what we want? Hopefully it will be a new look, design and rebirth of Apple. THIS IS WHAT IS NEEDED!

You all comment wrong :) $500 million for R&D means the same amount of money from new buyers pockets. Or even more :)
